A Oneshot for @BF_1352
Lauren's POV
Two months sure do fly by fast, but a good two months they've been. I think it's been a good two months for everyone. Elliot seems happier, my boyfriend's gotten back into therapy, which is great. Elliot and his father have been making up, it seems that they've gotten closer. Elliot has gotten closer with all of his family in general. The last time he came home from therapy, he smiled at me, which I hadn't seen him do in months. And that smile was sincere! He's supposed to go into another therapy session today, so he'll be talking to her and getting the help that he needs. I'm on my way to work right now, I've taken his job for the time being. My phone vibrates and Elliot's name pops up on the screen, saying that he was trying to call me. A grin tugs at my lips as I answer it. Elliot's voice was bright as he spoke to me.
"Hey, Lauren! What are you doing right now?" Elliot asks.
"Hi Elliot, I'm on my way to work, are you heading to your appointment with Miss Kambell?" I reply.
"Yes, I'm already here. I've just got here, but she has another person in right now, she's finishing up a session I guess. Figured I'd call you as I wait." He replies.
"Alright. How's your day been so far?" I inquire.
"Good. Mom took us out to breakfast, we had it all! It was a sweet moment, although I wish Dad could have come with us. Mom said he wanted to sleep in." Elliot hums.
"Aw, that sounds pleasant. I'm sure that you could have breakfast with your Dad another day." I reassure.
"Yeah, you have a good point." He mumbles.
"Ask him the next time you see him, see what he says," I suggest.
"Alright... thanks, Lauren. You are so awesome!" Elliot beams.
I laugh. "Thank you, babe, you are awesome too."
He lets out a slew of cute little giggles. "I know. I think I'm pretty awesome too!"
"Well, I've got to go, I've arrived at work. I'll have to talk to you later." I reply, parking my car in one of the parking spots of the Bureau parking lot.
"Aww, our conversations are always so short. It's not fair!" Elliot whines.
"I know, I know, but we can talk later," I promise.
"Okay, oh, Miss Kambell is done with her session, so bye!" He responds, getting up from whatever seat he was sitting in.
"Ok, I'll see you, bye Elliot, love you." I hum as I get out of the car, yanking out the key and slipping it into my pocket.
"Bye darling, I love you!" Elliot exclaims, hanging up.
I walk away from my car and walk into the Bureau's headquarters. I walk down the hallway and into the break room. There's a pot of tea and a pot of coffee sitting on the counter. Jack and the rest were drinking coffee. I poured myself a cup of tea and then walked over to sit, but before I could sit or take a sip of my tea, the phone sitting on the counter began ringing. I quickly turn on my heels and grab the receiver, putting the phone up to my ear. It was a woman's voice on the end of the phone. Dispatch must have transferred the call over to us. Before I could greet the woman, they started frantically explaining whatever was happening on the other end of the phone, although it is hard to understand her through her tears.
"Oh my god! Officer, please, whoever you are, come quick! My husband, he's dead! It's a bloody awful sight! Blood is everywhere!" The woman explained.
A murder we'll have to investigate. We've got to get over to this address! However, there's a problem. I recognize that voice. We're going to the house of the one and only Elliot Clayton! The voice belongs to his mother, Eleanor Clayton! But this phone call could only mean one thing, someone murdered Elliot's father, Matthew! I can't let her know that it's me, not yet at least, I must remain professional.
