A oneshot for

Edson's POV

Brazil is competing in the Olympics, and they've asked me to compete in the meter running competition! I'm excited to compete for my country and earn some medals for Brazil in the 2016 Olympics. I have been training very hard, there's not a minute to spare when there is gold and notoriety on the line. I've been training basically every second I can unless I need to sleep, eat, or give myself breaks so I wouldn't collapse or hurt myself.

The only thing that I hate about doing all this training is being away from my family. I miss them a lot but I am determined to win more than anything. Being able to celebrate with my family with the gold medal around my neck will be my greatest accomplishment for me, Brazil, and the meter runs! Although training is difficult and causes me to be away from my family and makes me tired it will be worth it in the end. My fiancé, Mara Oliveira, is with me and is very supportive of me during my training and hard times. I don't know what I'd do without her. She is also competing in the Olympics on Brazil's teams of athletes. She's really good at what she does. Her being an athlete helps her understand all of the pressure that I'm under. She's competing with Brazil for the triple jump, the long jump, and swimming! I'm personally really proud of her.

My fiancé and I have a two-year age gap but I'll get to be her husband before I'm 30. I love her so much. That is a woman full of love, kindness, and loyalty. She wants the best for those around her. Not to mention that she's beautiful too.

She and I intend to get married when we get back home from the Olympics. I hope that I can give her the wedding day that she deserves. Not many people know about our relationship. The only people who know about us are only our familes. Our relationship is effectively a secret.

She's here to wish me luck. I'm competing against a competitor from a country that I don't think I've ever heard of. Luzaguay? Is this their first Olympics? Hmm, there's nothing on my competitor either. There's nothing about 'returning champion' or 'here to defend their title' on my competitor. I'm running against someone named Oscar Rojas. I'm here to do the 200-meter run, this should be an easy win! Mara smiles at me as she kisses my cheek.

"I'm going to be rooting for you, darling!" She beams.

"And I'll kiss you with that gold medal around my neck after crossing the finish line," I reply.

We share a hug. We were then called to the starting line. I hurry to the starting line, standing next to the other runners. Oscar Rojas was standing next to me. He made eye contact with me and I noticed something strange about my fellow competitor. Rojas had yellow eyes. That's strange. But it won't really be a problem. Eye color doesn't affect how fast you run. I stretch for a few seconds and then get ready to run like my life depends on it.

The announcer of the race fired a gun to signal that the race was starting. I ran as fast as I could. I was in the lead. I'm doing it! I'm going to win the gold medal. Blinking and taking a breath to make sure that I was kept steady, I opened my eyes to see that Oscar was in front of me. How did he get in front of me? I speed up my pace and then soon catch up to the Luzaguayan runner. He smirked at me.

"You think you're going to get the gold?" He laughs.

"Yes. I will get the gold, I have trained so hard for it I have to!" I reply.

Oscar sped off. He's so fast. This feels like this is inhumane. Like his speed is unmatched... he seems supernatural! I don't mess with that stuff, I'm superstitious you could say. He yelled for 'Caetano to eat my dust!'. He's clearly not the best in sportsmanship either! I try my best to catch up, running after him. Oh no, the finish line is coming up! This is taking more out of me than I was expecting it to, but it's okay, I am determined to get that gold medal!
