Adelaine's POV

I don't want senior year to end. I don't want this to be over, but the closer we get to the end of the year, the closer we get to the best part of the year, prom. I went to prom last year but this year it's extra special. It's senior prom, my last prom. What's the best part of prom? The nominations for Queen and King. Everyone is particularly excited about the nominations. I was nominated for Queen and Hugh was nominated as King. I can't wait to see if I win, but more importantly, I can't wait to see Hugh's reaction to my dress. Martine is making the girls' dresses. After the nominations were announced on the afternoon news show, which Sean and William were very enthusiastic about, me, Hugh, and Kelsey headed to the theatre room to have practice.

Kelsey didn't have to do anything, but she worked on other things as she sat in the corner. She took the time to catch up on reading some crime-fighting books. She was working on her studies. You see, she got a scholarship to go into the Grimsborough Police Academy. We're all proud of her but Dad is the one who is the proudest.

I have to do some work. Hugh and Kelsey watch over the members. They were supposed to be studying their lines. I pull out my tablet and begin reviewing my notes. I was trying to plan out the set design for the musical. Currently, I'm sketching out set designs, drawing out where I want certain things. Before I get way too in the zone, I put on a pair of special glasses. They're supposed to protect your eyes while you look at screens all day. I don't want to get headaches. I continue to do work until I hear whispering in the talkative group of students.

"Did she put on glasses?"

"She did."

"Why?"

"I don't know."

"She does not look good with glasses."

"Yeah, she looks like a dork."

"Her beauty is downgraded by those glasses."

"I know! Look at those frames... ew."

"Hey! Who is that who's badmouthing Adelaine?!" Hugh exclaims, jumping up from his seat and crossing his arms as he walks to the front of the classroom.

The student who insulted me about the glasses squirms in their seat. Hugh comes over to them, glaring down at them. He has a stern expression, his arms still crossed.

"So it was you..." Hugh says coldly.

"I'm sorry!" They shout.

"Yeah, you better be! No one is going to insult Adelaine and get away with it. Don't do it again or you'll have to deal with me!" He growls.

"Y-Yes, sir." The student stutters.

"And that goes for the rest of you too. You must respect your President! She's working hard so you all can have great quality musicals. Adelaine works her ass off for you." Kelsey scolds.

"Sorry." Was the general census.

I flash Hugh and Kelsey a smile. Kelsey smiles back and then goes back to her book. Hugh comes over to me and then sits next to me. I kiss his cheek and he kisses my head. I love him so much. My sexy protector!

Senior prom is here! I've done everything that I can to get myself ready, but I need my dress. Martine put the final touches on the dresses this morning and is delivering them today. I've fixed my hair, curling my long blonde hair with a curling iron. I did my makeup but kept it simple because I didn't want to overdo it. There was a knock at the door and I hurried to answer it. Martine smiles at me.
