A Oneshot for HHYtheking

AN: Here's something short and sweet for y'all! I have been super busy lately, but things will still be open, hopefully, I'll have more time to write soon! :)

Danny's POV

Having a brother who's ten years older then you is an interesting experience. My older brother, Greg, is a successful family doctor. A few days ago, Greg proposed to his longtime girlfriend. Ever since then, my parents have been pestering me to get a girlfriend too. I really do hate being compared to him although I don't want to disappoint my parents either. Greg did this with a dating app. Perhaps I should try that. I downloaded a dating app and whenever I have some free time, I'd swipe some. I don't know why I don't get as many matches as I thought I would. I was lying in bed and trying to get a match. I swiped on this one girl with a pretty name. Monica Pozie... makes me think of the flower. She's as pretty as one of them. I wonder if her pretty green eyes sparkle the same way in real life. Surprisingly, she matched with me. Huh, she swiped right on me? I can't believe she still swiped right on me. I guess I should look at her profile. She's twenty-one years old... and she's a student at Grimsborough University. She's even one of the chapter presidents of one of the sororities there. Hmm, that conflicts with how she listed that she was shy. There's definitely a contradiction between those two facts... could she really be someone that I could work with? I'm still willing to try it out with her though. I messaged her and luckily she messaged back. We ended up talking throughout the night. We talked for a while over the course of a few days, but eventually, the topic of going out came up. I brought it up first and she seemed pretty receptive to it. I sent a message to her and asked her out, and Monica agreed. I didn't exactly have a plan on what we are going to do on that date. However, we just went out to get coffee. She is as beautiful as her profile made her seem! I know it seems clique but she's perfect. Monica was shy and honest like her profile said she was but when she's running her sorority, she's an independent and strong lady, she's even popular among her sorority sisters! She's very pretty but what I like the most about her is her optimism.

The best part about this whole thing is that she likes me back! Our relationship is going smoothly and it is nice so far. I think the relationship is healthy and Monica seems to see it in a good light. We're both busy people, with her being a University student and me being a crisis worker. The two of us still manage to make this work. Since we can't see each other in person often, we text, call, and video chat whenever we can. We normally chat during the day and then do our video calls at night. Whenever there is a moment that we both are free, we meet up in person. Recently, Monica and I have been especially busy. We're either too tired or too busy to do anything other than send a rare text to each other.

Currently, I'm at work. There's been one crisis after another it seems. I try to check my phone whenever I have a second of free time. I felt my phone in my pocket buzzing away. It just beeped and beeped and beeped! I thought that I turned off notifications. I got tired of these notifications after a few minutes. I slip my phone out of my pocket and glance at the screen. Monica had been blowing up my phone. I was worried though. The contents of the messages worried me more than the number of messages. Monica was demanding I come over. It seemed urgent. She was wanting me to get to her apartment as soon as possible. Monica's practically begging me. I say that an emergency came up and left work. I can leave for a few hours. Monica needs me! I got into my car, sent her a text that I was on my way, and drove off. I sped over to Monica's apartment. I parked my car next to hers, turn it off, and take the key out. I put the key into my pocket and hurry to the door. It was unlocked, she must be expecting me, and I burst into the apartment.

"Monica! Is everything okay?"- I say as I enter.

The apartment really is a mess. Did something happen? Monica never would have let her apartment get this messy. It is completely in disarray! Almost as if someone broke into her apartment... wait, what if that's what happened?! Is she alright? I hurried into the living room. Monica was sitting on the couch, looking at a mess herself. On the coffee table, spread across of it was some sort of map. There was a dot marked "Sam" and a note written next to it that read, "Twenty yards, can only live for a day." What does that mean? There was a bottle of aspirin on the table as well. That... makes me feel uncomfortable and worried. I take a seat next to her. Her head was in her hands. I rest a hand against her back.
