"Stop sulking" Halley opened one of her eyes after Sam interrupted her meditation with a sigh, she saw the messages her cousin had sent to Aisha and how the other girl didn't respond "If she wants to be a snake you gotta leave her"
"Just like you're leaving Eli?" she snapped and Halley frowned
"Okay...ouch" she touched her heart offended "For your information, I'm working on it" Halley had spent days ignoring Eli just to gather enough courage to talk to him about Cobra Kai, it was turning not only him but also all of the other students into bullies and she didn't like that
"Yeah, right" Sam scoffed
"I'm not discussing this with you right now" Halley rolled her eyes, suddenly she wasn't in the mood for Karate and it switched to the mood of wanting to spend all day buried on her blankets and eating everything in her kitchen
"Excuse me" a voice was heard getting the attention of the four people in the yard. Halley smiled when she saw Demetri walk in. "Uh, it was unclear if the gate was the front door or if I was supposed to ring the doorbell'' He looked behind the four of them "Is that a Koi pond?" Halley snorted, of course that was the first thing Demetri noticed "How much does it cost to maintain that?" Sam looked at Halley in disbelieve with a smile on her face and the girl put her hand above her mouth to prevent her laughing
"May I help you?" Daniel interrupted confused
"Uh..." Demetri balanced on his feet awkwardly "Yeah. I wanna learn Karate" They all saw how Daniel's face light up when at Demetri's words
"You have come to the right place" they could also see the relieve in Demetri's eyes when he was welcomed with open arms

"This is not gonna work" Demetri sighed standing in front of Halley
"Listen, I may not have been the best of friends the last few months" Halley looked down because she was right, she hadn't been putting the effort to actually be Demetri's friend, he was her best friend even before Eli came into the picture and she had left him a little to the side with everything happening in her life "But I know you Demetri. You may be lanky and a complete nerd-"
"Woah, thanks" He said sarcastically and she laughed softly
"Let me finish. But you're also smart as hell, I believe if you put in enough effort you could be amazing at Karate, you just gotta think of it in someway your brain understands" Halley would be damned if she let Demetri back down just because he thought he wasn't good enough "I think is clear you're not good with sports"
"That's an understatement" Demetri nodded
"But you are good with quick thinking, you can solve situations fast on your feet, and that's something very important in Karate, you don't need to know every move of Karate to be a good fighter, you just gotta make the most of it of what you do know" Demetri nodded a little bit more confident, just a little, but it was progress " Now show me wax on"

The four teenagers had decided that for the sake of Demetri they would take a break and go to the mall to eat something. Demetri was buying his food while Halley watched Sam and Robby interact. She had made a lame excuse and walked away from them because she wasn't in the mood for third wheeling. Their little chat was interrupted when Demetri sat with them, Halley sighed and cursed Demetri's lack of ability to read the room
"The new issue of Dungeon Lord came out" Demetri basically screamed and raised from his chair "Um, do you guys want anything from the comic book store?" they both denied "I'll be right back. Make sure no one throws away my chicken" he ran away
"Has he always been like this?" Robby asked Halley that had approached the two
"Yep, I don't remember one time when he wasn't" she said also smiling, there was never a dull moment with him, that was for sure.
Halley, Robby and Sam left their table to get Demetri's chicken packed so he could take home, she knew after he bought his comic he was gonna be so focused on reading it the he'd end up eating nothing
"It didn't have to be this way" Halley's world stopped for a second when she heard the voice of her boyfriend "You could've just joined Cobra Kai if you weren't such a pussy"
"At least I'm not an asshole" Demetri's voice broke, Robby, Sam and Halley sent a look at each other and nodded. Sam jumped from the side, setting Demetri free from one of the Cobras and Halley came from the other side, stopping him from getting back at Sam. The two girls made a barrier between the Cobra Kai's and Demetri
"You guys need to back off" Sam said and Halley felt the need to say something but after making eye contact with Hawk all of the words died in her throat. She pushed herself to glare at him, something she never thought she would do, at that she saw his demeanor switch slightly but when he put his eyes on Sam all of the minimum remorse in his eyes disappeared
"I don't wanna have to hit a girl"
"You wouldn't stand a chance" Robby walked in, Hawk smirked at him
"Six against four? More like three and a half" the red haired boy looked at Demetri. He nodded and the Cobras launched at them.
"Robby down!" Halley said and sent a kick that went just above Robby's head and directly into the guy behind him. The three made a circle around Demetri receiving all of the attacks so he didn't have to. Halley blocked a punch that was coming at her head and grabbed the wrist of the boy twisting it and kneeling when she felt someone come from her back, she yanked the arm of the boy and used his weight to throw him behind her knocking the other guy to the ground winning her time to get back on her feet. She turned around to see Hawk going at her cousin and she didn't think twice before kicking him in the back sending him directly into Sam's extended leg. Halley turned around with her leg raised high into one of the Cobra's faces, which recovered quickly from the hit.
Halley moved to the side avoiding the guy's fist and taking the opportunity of his exposed chest she delivered an elbow in his ribs making him double over, she wrapped her leg around his making him lose balance and finally hit the floor.
Halley turned to see Robby kicking Hawk in the face making him fall to the ground, she sighed when she saw the fight was over, and then looked around to see the circle of people that formed around them
"We saved your chicken" Sam gave the box to Demetri with a small smile. Halley simply looked at them and then at Hawk still on the floor
"I'll meet you at my house later" she said to Sam and then walked away, Halley knew it was now or never, if she didn't do what she was supposed to then she would just be a part of the problem

The words of her grandmother rang in her head, she refused to believe it, she was blinded by all the memories of the person she used to care for the most. Her sweet boyfriend had turned into an asshole, he turned into what he despised, he turned in the people she swore she would kick the ass of

I hope this was good, honestly I struggled a lot with the fight scene which is why I kept it as vague as possible, I really hope you can visualize Halley fighting because I know my description of fights isn't the best
Also, next chapter should be interesting sooo, buckle up buttercup
