Halley and Eli were sitting on her bed, him in between her legs and the girl was playing with his hair, they had been talking but there was a moment of silence where Halley's mind kind of slipped too deep into her thoughts and before she even could stop herself, she asked
"Why do you still let me call you Eli?" it was something that she had on the back of her mind, she realized that Eli forbid everyone, including Demetri, from calling him anything other than Hawk, but with time she noticed he never said anything to her when she called him Eli
"Huh?" the boy looked up from between her legs
"It's just..." she debated on repeating the question, even though he had already clearly heard her "You never let anyone call you anything other than Hawk, yet you don't say anything when I call you Eli" she felt his body tense for a second before relaxing again
"Huh, I don't know" he payed dumb "I never noticed I guess" he brushed it off as if it was nothing and she didn't push.
But Eli did notice, the reason behind letting her still call him Eli came with a reason, one that he wouldn't allow himself to admit outloud, but he knows, he knows it pretty clearly.
Halley LaRusso was the first person to ever make him feel less insecure about his scar and about being him in general. She was the first person to stand up for him against bullies. She was always the first to lend a helping hand or offer him kind words. Halley LaRusso was the first person he fell in love with because she looked at him, not at his scar. When she looked at him he could feel she just saw Eli Moskowitz and not the nerd with a disgusting scar.
She made him feel safe and wanted, not as Hawk, but as Eli, even before his transformation she respected him and never once made him feel like a freak. When he was around her, he didn't have to pretend to be someone else, someone tough, someone strong, someone confident, someone like Hawk. With her he could let that facade loose and just be himself. With her he wasn't Hawk, the strong and mean fighter, no, with her he was Eli, the sweet and caring boyfriend

"He's just a friend that I'm helping" Sam said. Halley and her were reorganizing Halley's bedroom
"Yeah, right" Halley snorted, after finding out that Robby was now living in Sam's house she had taken upon herself to tease her as much as possible "That's what I told you when you told me I liked Eli"
"That's different" Sam rolled her eyes
"No, it is not" Halley stopped talking for a second as moving her drawers away from the wall was taking a little bit too much of force, she ended up pushing it with her feet and with her back against the wall for support "I would say it's pretty much the same"
"I don't like him" Sam assured
"Lie" Halley sent her a look "That's a bit fat lie, and you know it" she pointed at her cousin
"Even if I did like him, it wouldn't be right to do anything. He's living at my house after all"
"So?" Halley looked at her as if she was dumb "That'll just make it better, you can have your boyfriend at your disposal whenever you want to" she send a suggestive look and if Sam wasn't so bussy trying to accomodate the fake plants on the shleves correctly she would have rolled her eyes
"I just broke up with Miguel"
"To hell with him" Halley raised her arms in the air to get her point across "If I were you, a beautiful and very much single girl, and a guy like Robby, handsome and caring, looked at me the same way he looks at you I definitely wouldn't pass on that"
"You're being ridiculous"
"No, I'm talking with the logic your brain's lacking"

Apparently Daniel wanted to do a demo at the festival so now Sam, Robby and Halley were practicing, and to be honest, Halley was scared, she's usually very good with people and doesn't gets embarrassed easily but representing Miyagi-Do Karate in front of a shit ton of people just made her nervous like no other
"Hey, guys" Daniel came to them, interrupting their practice "Thanks for doing this. How you feeling?" he asked and Halley wanted to say she was pissing her pants, but refrained from doing so and simply smiled
"It's a little short notice, but I think we got it" Robby was the first to talk
"We can totally do it" Halley really did believe that, but it still didn't made her any less nervous
"Good" Daniel said relieved
"I was thinking for the finale, I could do some kinda flip kick" Sam offered
"Nah, don't worry about the finale. I got it covered" he waved it off
"What's that for?" Robby pointed at some structure behind them
"That?" the older man turned around and took a slice of ice from a cooler "You'll see" and he played the mysterious card, simply returning the ice to where it was and walking away

Halley was standing, her mind empty and she knew she looked stupid just standing there with her Gi on looking in front of her, but she just couldn't believe what she was seeing, and suddenly she felt the urge to throw up.
She could recognize that back everywhere and the bad memories it brought her made her almost shiver. When the person she was looking at turned around to face her, she just wanted to punch him and run as fast as she could, and that urge just grew when they spotted her and started walking her way, but for some reason she just seemed to be stuck where she was.
"Well, well, well. Feels nice to be back" Immediately when she heard their voice she finally snapped out of it and got into defensive mode "Specially if I'm blessed with a sight like yours" she could hear the smugness in their voice, they knew exactly what they was doing and she didn't like it one bit, so to cover her pure fear she just rolled her eyes
"Can't say the same" she crossed her arms over her chest and gave a slight step back just to get more space between them "What are you doing here?"
"You mean in the festival or in the Valley?" they gave a step forward, still with a smirk plastered on their lips
"You know what I mean" she started to look around for ways out of the situation
"Well, then, that's something you'll figure out soon enough" if anyone looked at them they would be able to detect the malice in the person's eyes "But I think I'll be sticking around for a while" and after that they just walked away, backwards which she thought was kind of cliche. After they were far enough away from her Halley released a breath she had been holding since the conversation started
"Fuck" she whispered

There's so much happening in this chapter.
First we've got a very sweet scene between our high school sweethearts, it's been a while since I wrote pure fluff for them, so I thought I would give you some happiness because in the chapters to come everything is gonna be a little bit messy. Which brings us to our next point, the new character, finally, I wanted to introduce them so bad because there's gonna be some interesting scenes with them
