"Stand back. It's coming down!" Hawk's voice warned everyone as the fence fell to the floor
"Hey! What are you doing?" Daniel walked in, with Johnny behind him. Hawk froze for a second as Daniel walked up to him, clearly not knowing how to react in front of the angry man
"You were both right. Talk is cheap" he admitted "So, I'm building a bridge" he explained
"Uh, more specifically, a Okinawan sparing deck" Demetri walked up to them and showed them what they were planning to do in his tablet "Eli's a design whiz. I looked it over and the physics check out"
"Mr. Miyagi used this area for extra storage" Sam explained
"We thought we could give it a better use" Halley smiled at both senseis "It would mean a whole more room for training"
"We are all gonna help build it" Miguel joined "Assuming our senseis approve" Daniel took a look at everyone helping, Miyagi-do's and Eagle Fangs alike, all united for the project
"Sounds good to me" Daniel nodded looking at Johnny
"Yeah" The blonde man looked at the teens "Sounds awesome" They all smiled at the progress
"Well done, bird boy" Halley praised the red-haired boy and raised her hand for a high five
"Thanks" He smiled and gave her the high five

"Soooo..." Demetri walked up to Halley and Sam who were working on some wood. "You and Eli were talking the other day, huh?" he raised his eyebrows up and down suggestively. Sam's mouth opened and copied Demetri's stare
"Oh. My. God" The brunette rolled her eyes and continued with what she was doing "Don't even start Demetri"
"Why did I not know about this?" Sam pushed the matter
"Because it's not a big deal"
"It is" Sam nodded
"It really is" Demetri supported
"We just talked about, you know, this" she pointed around them "He was supposed to meet you, Demetri" she looked at him with a raised eyebrow to let him know she knew what he did "And I happened to be there, and I'm nosey, so I asked, sue me" she raised her arms in surrender
"Just that?" Sam pouted "Come on, give us details, something"
"There is no details to give because nothing happened" she snapped "Just leave it alone, guys" and she walked away, it was clear Hawk was still kind of a touchy subject for the brunette
"They're still in love with each other" Sam said as soon as her cousin was out of earshot
"Oh, totally" Demetri agreed as the both looked at the brunette
"I give them a few weeks before they go back to each other" Sam looked at the taller boy
"Nah" he said after thinking about it for a few seconds "If it was up to Eli, sure, two weeks and they would be together, Halley's stubborn though. I give them over a month"
♢♢♢
"You are gonna tell me you and Eli just talked about the deck?" Sam resumed the conversation they had earlier when they arrived to Halley's house that night
"God. You're not gonna leave it alone are you?" Halley covered her face with one of the cushions in her couch
"Nope" Sam shook her head "Because I know there's something you're leaving out"
"How could you possibly know that?"
"'Cause I know you" she simply shrugged and Halley groaned
"I absolutely hate you" she glared at the blue-eyes girl
"I love you too" Sam smiled cheekily "Now spill" she sat in the sofa
"Well, he did ask me if me and Demetri ever got together" Sam squealed "Relax, it was just a question"
"We both know it wasn't just a question" Sam looked at her cousin incredulously "You can't deny he's still into you"
"I never did" Halley quietly admitted
"And you're also still into him" Sam assured
"I am" Halley had no problem admitting she still liked Eli, she wasn't blind nor dumb, she could see it, better yet, she could feel it. The way they ended their relationship was abrupt and she never stopped loving him, neither did he, they just became so polar opposites that it was never gonna work and Halley was the one that made the decision of getting out of the relation before it was too late and it turned toxic level chernobyl
"Do you want to date him again?" Sam asked raising an eyebrow at her
"No" she confidently said
"What!?" Sam jumped in her place "You literally just admitted you still like him"
"I did" Halley nodded her head
"Then what's the matter?" Sam genuinely couldn't understand her cousin's brain and Halley was also confused by Sam's, they were so different on so many levels. Sam found dating people easy, getting together and reconnecting seemed like the easiest thing for her, whereas Halley found a million and one buts when it came to even start trying to get into a relationship
"Because not only did he change a lot, but so did I. Our relationship feels like it was ten years ago. I don't know who he is anymore, I'm still trying to figure it out, and I think he also is trying to do it, hell, I'm trying to figure myself out. It's just too complicated" Halley shook her head
"Because you make it complicated" Sam shrugged
"No, I think you just over-simplify everything" Sam frowned at her cousin "Wich is not a bad thing, by the way, it seems to be working for you and Miguel" Halley shrugged "I just can't do that"
Halley and Samantha LaRusso grew together but were so different. They both had no idea how each other's minds worked but it seemed to work for each of them so they learned to just let it be
⚘
Hello, hello
Halley denying the obvious feeling between her and Hawk seems like the stupidest thing ever to me, and my girl is anything but stupid, so we're not doing that.
