Eli was at Halley's house, as per usual, but since the incident at the library, every time he looked at her, he blushed a deep shade of red, Halley, of course noticed, she noticed everything about him, but she said nothing about it to not embarrass him. On the other side, lately Halley had been finding Eli 10 times cuter than she did before, and it was driving her mad.
She was baking a cake, with Eli sitting on the counter, just watching her in silence, well, he was silent, she was rambling about things, that came to her mind, she changed the topic every couple of minutes because she got distracted and then forgot what she was talking about before, Eli was paying attention to every single word, he had always found the way Halley's brain worked very interesting.
When the cake was ready, Halley let Eli put the frosting over it, and after getting smacked in the head for eating half of it, he got the job done. Now the two of them were sitting face to face, eating pieces of the cake while talking. It was rare the occasion where the boy felt comfortable and brave enough to make eye contact, specially with a girl, specially if he liked said girl, but that afternoon he felt brave, so he maintained eye contact, which surprised Halley, and made her smile even more, it was always the little thing that made her happy.
There was a moment of silence, where a thousand thoughts were running through the teenagers heads, most of which consisted basically in the person in front of them, Eli wanted to say something, but he couldn't find anything fitting or worthy of breaking the silence, apparently Halley did
"Eli" she whispered, not wanting to disturb the calmness of the moment
"Yeah?" he asked in the same tone. Halley looked determined to accomplish something in that moment, he didn't know what, yet
"Remember what Kyler said today in the library?" if what she was about to do turned out well she was gonna scream of happiness, if it didn't she was gonna hit her head against the table until she passes out
"He said a lot of things" the boy was confused where all that was going
"About how 'no girl would wanna kiss you'?" she took a deep breath before continuing "I would" Halley felt like her heart was gonna blow up, her hands were sweating and her body was heated. Eli was not much better, he felt like passing out, he couldn't comprehend what was happening, he had been dreaming about that moment since fifth grade
"W-what?" it's the only thing he can manage to say
'Fuck it' Halley thinks, I mean, if she fucked up, she might as well and complete the job, there was no going back now, just forward
"I. Like. You. Eli" she said slowly, grabing his face in her hands, making him look at her, his expression was something between terror and happines, he looked as if his brain had stopped working.
Eli looked like he wanted to say something, but nothing was coming out of his lips, his whole face was red, up to the tip of his ears and all the way down to his neck, he looked the most adorable she had ever seen him
"Can I kiss you?" it was clear the boy wasn't gonna say anything any time soon, so she decided to move on. The girl's question snapping him out of his little trance, he was able to put himself together enough to nod enthusiastically to express how much he wanted it as he couldn't trust his words.
At the consent Halley smiled and leaned forward connecting their lips in a very much longed kiss, Eli was in a bliss, he was kissing his crush, the person he's liked for years, he still didn't fully understand what was happening, he was just happy to be there.
The girl went on her knees, getting in a higher position and taking control of the situation. She wasn't much more experienced than the boy, but she was more confident, and that was enough. Her hands cupping his jaw, and his in her elbows keeping her close, not wanting the kiss to end
Unfortunately they were human and needed air, so they had to pull away from the kiss, that didn't mean they had to be away from each other, their hands stayed where they were, their foreheads against each other, eyes closed. The two felt like in a dream, but it felt so real that they knew it was actually happening
"I like you too" Eli finally said, his voice was soft, but full of happiness. Halley smiled
"I can tell" Eli's cheeks went red again, she could feel it because his skin turned warmer under her hands
"Shut up" he playfully said
They felt like they were in their own little world, they both loved it and would enjoy every precious second of it

I loved writing every letter of this chapter, I think it's the cutest thing I've ever written, I know this chapter is a little bit shorter than the others, but I feel they deserve their own chapter.
Also, you better enjoy moments like these, because dark times are about to come :)
