"What are you wearing for the dance, Dem?" Halley asked on the phone
"You mean the dance where I'm gonna be third wheeling you and Eli?" Demetri had continued to tease Halley about Eli, and even more after he joined Miyagi-do
"You're not gonna be third wheeling" Halley rolled her eyes
"Yeah, right, and you don't cry your eyes out every time we watch Fred's death"
"Let's not go there" doesn't matter how many times she watches it, Fred's death is something she was not gonna be able to get over "Anyway, you won't be third wheeling because me and Eli are not together" the boy mumbled a 'yet' that Halley ignored "And we are going as a group, not a couple"
"Yeah, but you wanted to go as a couple" he further teased
"Demetri Alexopolus, I swear to god, if you don't stop I will kick your ass"
"No, you won't" she could imagine him shaking his head smugly "Specially because you know I'm right"
"That's it, I'm hanging up. Bye" she without letting him respond, she ended the call

Halley and Sam had decided on getting ready together. Sam's room was a mess, to say the least, there were clothes everywhere, even though there shouldn't be because they knew exactly what they were gonna where, makeup and hair products where scattered over every surface in the room and the two LaRussos were walking around the room trying not to trip over the mess
"Where in the world did I put my mascara?" Halley mumbled as she looked at the bunch of products in Sam's nightstand
"Here" Sam threw it at her from across the room "Can you help me with my hair after you're done there. For some reason there's a piece that's flat and I can't fully reach it"
"Sure" Halley said as she tried putting ehr mascara on without getting anything on her eyelid. They heard the bell ring and they knew they had to go down "Ready?" Sam nodded
"You?"
"More than" Halley nodded back and they went down the stairs
"Okay, here they come" they heard Amanda's voice announcing them. Johnny, Miguel and his family were there. Sam gave a little spin for her boyfriend and Halley stepped aside so they could have their moment
"Wow, you, uh, look so amazing " he said almost speechless, it was clear how much he liked Sam
"So do you" Sam chuckled nervously. The bell rang again and Halley immediately got nervous because she knew who was behind that door. They had decided that now that Eli had a license he would be the one driving to prom because Halley 'refused to drive in a fancy dress and heels' as she had put it. She was the one that rushed to the door. When they saw each other, both teenagers froze
"You- wow, you are beautiful" the compliment slipped pass his lips and Halley couldn't help but blush
"Thank you" Halley said in a soft voice "You are very handsome, as well" she recovered enough to compliment back and moved so he could walk through the door. When she turned around Halley made eye contact with her uncle who was staring at her with his eyebrows raised, only Sam and Amanda knew about who she was going with to the dance as they had talked about it when they went to buy dresses
The former lovers walked to the side so they could exchange corsages silently but with smiles glued to their lips
"Picture time. Let's go! Diazes, get together" She excitedly said and Carmen called Johnny to be a part of their family picture, Halley thought it was sweet how they included him "Beautiful. Let's get the LaRussos together. Anthony!"
"Uh, actually, he doesn't need to come down" Amanda said as they all walked to their picture spot
"Thought I was supposed to stay in my room for the rest of my life" The young teen came down stairs with an attitude
"Who told you to stay in your room?" grandma asked "He's grounded? What happened?" She turned to daniel
"Ma, we'll talk about it later, okay?" Daniel whispered. Sam and Halley were standing in the middle of the picture with the family around them. It was then that Halley remembered that her parents weren't there, their absence was not something she was really hurt by anymore but it would've been nice to have them there
"Alright, everybody now. One big happy family. Let's go" She saw how Eli hesitated, he didn't know if the invitation for the picture extended to him as well, so Halley flashed him a bright smile and nodded her head to invite him to come closer. They all managed to fit in the frame and Halley smiled, feeling one of Eli's hands resting in her shoulder.
Even though they weren't going actually together to the dance and they were gonna go pick Demetri after leaving the LaRusso house, it felt nice to pretend, just for a little bit that it was actually just the two of them going, that he had asked her to got to the dance with him and that they were still together

I'm not American and where I live we don't do proms so I have no idea how the corsage thing works. I just saw Sam and Miguel exchanging something, I googled what it was and went with it, if it's not right please correct me.
Also, Eli and Halley are so in love it's painful to not make them kiss, god, I'm struggling. I need help
