"He's gone?" Halley barged into Sam's room after her cousin had texted her about Miguel. She found Sam buried under her blankets

"Yeah" the answer was muffled by everything on top of her

"Like gone, gone?"

"Yeah, Halley. He's gone, gone" Sam sit up to finally look at her cousin "I talked to his mom and Johnny talked to my dad. He just left a note and left" she sighed

"Well, that's fucked up" the brunette mumbled and looked at her cousin with simpathy, after loosing the tournament to Tory and her boyfriend going MIA things hadn't been easy on her. Actually, that morning was the first time she had heard about Sam since the tournament "What do you need from me, distraction or do you want to rant?" Sam thought for a second

"Distraction" she finally answered

"Great. In that case, get up, take a shower" Halley looked her up and down "You need it"

"Rude" Sam scoffed but got up nonetheless "Where are we going?"

"Shopping. I need clothes that I can put on without feeling like my shoulder is falling off it's place" Halley shivered at the memory of that morning when she tried putting on a shirt that wouldn't stretch much, she almost died from the pain before giving up and settling in an oversized sweater "No one tells you how hard it is to get dressed when you have an injury in your arm. We can also stop by In-n-out on our way back and get something to eat while watching a movie"

"That sounds nice" Sam agreed

Halley forgot how much she missed her trips to the mall with Sam, they used to do that all the time but as time went on, and their life got more chaotic every breath they took, they simply stopped doing it. Trying on clothes for hours was definitely one of both girls favorite things when they started their teenage years.

As they were walking through the mall, a few bags already hanging from their arms, Halley's phone interrupted their chatting

"Wait" the brunette stopped walking and dropped the bags she had in her functioning hand to grab her phone from her pocket. She hesitated answering when Eli's name popped up in her screen, Halley really didn't want to rub in her relationship when Sam was struggling with hers

"Answer him" Sam said when she also read the name on the phone and saw her cousins face

"You sure?"

"Go on" she nodded surely with a small smile on her lips. Halley answered and brought her phone up to her ear

"Hey, E" A smile immediately appeared in her lips

'Halls, I don't know what to wear for dinner, I need help'

"You're getting ready now?" the teen laughed at her boyfriend's rushed voice "It's not even noon"

'I don't know what to wear' he repeated, 'What do I do?'

"Just dress like you always do, it's literally nothing fancy. It'll be just us eating the dinner my dad made"

'What if they don't like my clothes? What if they don't like me anymore?' he stressed

"Eli, you'll be fine, they're not gonna judge you on your clothes, they literally don't care. Just wear something nice, be yourself and you'll be fine"

'That doesn't help at all in deciding my outfit' he deadpanned

"Well, you've got over six hours to figure that out, good luck" she teased "Now, I gotta go, I'm at the mall with Sam. I'll see you later, bye, love you"

'Love you' that was the last thing said before Halley ended the call

"What was that all about?" Sam asked amusedly and Halley snorted as she picked up her bags

"I organized a dinner with my parents and Eli tonight, because my mom is still a little unsure about him after last year's All-Valley"

"And I don't blame her" Sam nodded

"So, since my dad's coming home for a couple of days before they both leave again I decided that now it was a good time for them to get to know him again" Halley thought for a moment "Well, it's more for my mom than for my dad, he really doesn't care much, mom is the one that's still worried" and no one blamed her, she hadn't been there to actually see Eli's development "Now Eli's freaking out about his clothes for tonight"

"Why?" a laugh almost escaped Sam's lips

"He thinks they're gonna hate him or something if he picks some pants they don't like, I guess" Sam couldn't hold her laughter now, Halley quickly joined her, both cousins laughing as they walked through the mall's halls

Halley wasn't worried, after the last few months she had seen how much Eli had worked on himself to actually be someone everyone didn't dislike. She was absolutely sure that everything would be alright during dinner.

The whole house already smelled like the food Diego was preparing when the doorbell rang. Halley immediately jumped from where she was sitting in the couch to open the door, she knew if she didn't and the first person Eli saw when the door was open was one of her parents the boy would most likely pass out

"Hey, there" The brunette smiled at the sight of her boyfriend immediately leaning up for a kiss

"Hey" he smiled softly at her, the nerves still present in his face

"Don't be nervous, you'll be fine" Halley put a reassuring hand in his shoulder

"We don't know that"

"I do. You're amazing, they already loved you before, they'll continue doing it after today" she smiled up at him pecking his lips shortly "And you look amazing" he blushed lightly when her eyes roamed his body "Let's go, they're waiting for us" she grabbed his hand and pulled him alongside her to the dining room. Halley heard him take a deep breath before walking in with a polite smile displayed in his lips

Hello, hello

I need to be honest with you guys, Halley's dad is so irrelevant in this story that I completely forgot his name, lmao. I deadass had to look back in older chapters to find out how the fuck did I decided to call him. This was a bit of a filler chapter, but it's Heli fluff, so who cares?
