"You gave me a key" he showed her it, and she sighed knowing he was right "It seems like every time I come here you're always out"
"This is my happy place" He backyard was the closest thing she had to the miyagi-do dojo "What are you doing here" it's not that she didn't wanted him there, she was just curious
"You weren't at the dojo earlier" he noted sitting besides her
"No, I wasn't" she confirmed

"I'm scared" she knew she could trust Demetri with thing like those, he more than anyone knew what it felt like to be constantly scared a and wary of everything "Karate terrifies me now"
"Not it's not, you've gotten better since you started" Demetri shut his mouth and decided to take the compliment, there was a few seconds of silence before the boy decided to break it
"You think you'll ever go back to karate?"
"I hope so" she nodded, and she really did, Karate always had been her safe space, that was the one thing she was outstanding at, she loved it and it broke her heart that people like Angela Armani and Erick West had ruined it for her. Demetri also hoped she reconsider it, he had seen her fight and he knew how good she was, in fact, he was surprised when he heard Angela had won the fight and Halley was the one in the hospital, he was convinced it was just luck because there is no way that happened
