The moment Halley saw Demetri sit down besides Hawk she knew something was gonna go wrong. The look in Hawks face was hard as stone, no trace of the sweet guy he used to be, but when his gaze softened and he looked interested in what Demetri was saying, she thought, for just a second, that maybe it would be okay. That hope died when Hawks' gaze hardened again and the liquid he had in his cup ended up all over Demetri.
Halley walked towards the two, almost stomping on her way there, she was over the Cobra Kai's and the way they believed everyone was inferior to them
"What the hell is your problem?" Halley murmured when she walked past him without even looking up at the boy, her eyes completely focused on her friend "You okay?" Halley asked him crouching down at his level, Demetri nodded
"Yeah, he's just a dick" he said quietly but apparently Hawk heard and gave a menacing step towards him. He was stopped by Halley that raised from her crouching position and stood right in front of him. He was taller than her, but not enough so that she had to look up at him, so she raised her chin up, daring him to give one more step
"Stay away" her voice wasn't loud, it was barely loud enough to be heard over the music, but Hawk didn't know what was it with her voice that she didn't have to scream for people to listen to her. Demetri stood up behind Halley and that was what broke the stare Hawk had in her, now he was glaring at Demetri
"So what? You're dating him now?" he looked Demetri up and down with disgust. Halley laughed and wondered where he got the audacity to question her
"I don't owe you an explanation anymore, Hawk" there it was again, the goddamn nickname he so proudly carried but felt so wrong when it came out of her lips "You are not my boyfriend, you are not my friend and you are not part of my life so stop intruding on it" she she numbered with her fingers "We are done. We are not together and you need to accept that because it was completely and only your fault" She had left him speechless, he knew she was right. The only thing he got in him to do was glare at her and walk away, but before he could go too far Halley grabbed his arm "Also... Keep your girlfriend away from me or the next time I will smash her head so hard against a wall that she'll forget how to even be a bitch. And trust me, that would be pretty hard considering who we're talking about"
Now she was the one that walked away with Demetri trailing behind her

After Demetri went to the bathroom Halley thought of going for another drink, but then she remembered that she had brought her car and maybe it was not a good idea for her to get drunk, so she settled for a cup of water instead. She hadn't seen her cousin in a while but the last time she saw her Robby was following her and she knew the boy wouldn't let anything happen to her so she didn't worry about her. Suddenly, the music stopped
"Excuse me" Demetri's voice was heard in the whole house, gaining the attention of everyone "I'd like to make a toast. To Eli Moskowitz'' he pointed at the red-haired boy. And Halley knew how Demetri's words could be so she knew Hawk was probably gonna have his night ruined. A lot of people started whispering confused "Oh!" Demetri chuckled "I'm sorry. Some of you may know him as Hawk '' he said in an amused tone "But underneath that crazy clown cosplay and whatever type of Maniac Panic he dumps in his hair, he's still good old Eli. My binary brother. Well, he was my binary brother. You know what he is now?...A real zero" he made a zero with his hand. And some people laughed
"Alright, that's enough, Demetri" Hawk spoke up
"Don't let that angry red hairdo fool you. He's a big softie" Demetri pouted mockingly "We watched every Harry Potter movie together. And he bawled like a baby when Dobby died" Halley now laughed because it was true, she hadn't seen anyone cry so much up until that moment. Honestly, Hawk had it coming, he walked around believing he was better than everyone else, he deserved to be put in his place "In the words of Eli's hero, Steve Jobs, 'I've got one more thing'. Have any of you heard of sleep enuresis?" That was when Halley's smile fell, saying silly things about Eli before Cobra Kai to tone down his ego was one thing but exposing him like that was not right
"Dem" she whispered and shook her head, but Demetri ignored her
"That is the medical term, of course. In the King's English, is good old-fashioned bed- wetting" Halley heard everyone laugh but she had closed her eyes long before the words left Demetri's lips, she looked down. As much as she thought Hawk was an asshole, she also thought he didn't deserve to be put out the so vulnerably like that "And Eli here is a pro" he clicked his tongue "My mom even had a special air mattress for sleepovers" Halley finally dared to open her eyes and her gaze went to her ex-boyfriend, whose eyes were red and was trying his best to keep glaring at Demetri instead of letting the tears fall "And she called it... 'Eli's waterbed' " And that was it for Hawk
"You're a corpse!" he raised his voice and started walking forward. Immediately the Miyagi-do's, including Halley, stood in front of Demetri to stop him from getting his ass beat
"You're gonna have to go through me" Chris said
"Stay out of it, traitor" a guy Halley didn't know the name of responded, she had heard some people call him Penis Breath
"Hey, don't touch him" Robby intervened
"Or what?" Aisha now said
"You won't like the answer to that" Halley stepped up
"Guys" Moon stood in the middle of the two groups "Stop. We're friends"
"Oh! I smell a rumble!" A guy that to Halley looked way too old to be there said. Once again the glaring contest was interrupted, this time by the sirens of the cop's car
"Cops!" Someone yelled and everyone started running
"Demetri, you got lucky!. I'll see you in school!" Halley grabbed Demetri and then Robby
"Where's Sam?" Halley basically screamed
"I'll go get her!. You take Demetri and Nathaniel and get out of here!" Trusting Robby with Sam, Halley grabbed the younger boy and ran to her car, thanking to every god she had decided to park it a few blocks away

When I tell you I'm deeply in love with Halley I'm not kidding, I'm so attached to her that when I finish writing this fanfic I don't know how I'm gonna cope with my life.
Also, all of my friends in my private story are dying of the sneak peaks I'm publising in there of the chapters to come (Beacause I already have some things written 😏)
