Hawk walked into the dojo looking for Demetri, his friend had told him to meet him there, the red-haired boy stopped in his tracks when instead of his tall friend he found Halley, sitting there, her eyes closed, her body relaxed, it was clear she was meditating. His eyes widened and turned around to leave before she noticed him, but on his way out he crashed with the door, that alerted Halley

"Hawk?" she frowned because he was the last person he was expecting to see there. The red-haired boy almost winced when the nickname came out of her lips. To him it would always sting to be called Hawk by Halley, and he longed for the day where she would call him Eli again

"Hi" he scratched the back of his head as he stood there not knowing what to do

"What are you doing here?" she tilted her head still frowning

"I..uhm- I was supposed to meet Demetri here" Halley squint her eyes

"Demetri's mom is forcing him to run errands with her today" the woman insisted on taking her son once a month with her to have some 'mother-son time', and they both knew he wouldn't be free until at least 5:00pm. Hawk cursed Demetri in his mind, his friend knew what he was doing

"Oh, I don't know why he would tell me to come now, then" Awkwardness was radiating out of both of them

"Why were you meeting him here" she raised an eyebrow at him

"Well, I- umh we, wanted to..." He went on to explain what he and Demetri talked about earlier, they wanted to build a sparing deck so they all could have more space for training

"That is actually such a great idea" Halley and Hawk went outside so he could show her where he and Demetri were thinking the deck could go, and they had ended up sitting on the grass. After a few seconds of silence Hawk stared at Halley's finger that was wrapped in a band aid

"What happened?" he pointed at it

"Oh..." she looked at her finger, she had completely forgotten about it "I was making dinner with Demetri the other day and I got distracted talking to him, I almost cut half of my finger off" Hawk tensed at the mention of their friend, he had seen how Demetri and Halley grew closer over the time he wasn't with them and that inevitably made him jealous, because Hawk wanted to be in his place, he was, until he ruined it

"Can I asked you a question?" Hawk asked

"Shoot" Halley said

"Did you and Demetri ever...?" he trailed off

"Ever what?" she raised an eyebrow. She knew what he meant, he just wanted him to say it

"You know... did you guys...did you ever, like, got together?" it seemed as if the words were struggling to come out of his mouth. Her head started shaking her head in anticipation

"Oh, god no!" she looked horrified "No, nothing like that. We never ever would, that's disgusting, he's like my brother" Hawk let out a breath he didn't know he was holding

"Oh...good" he sighed, Halley looked at him amusedly

"Why?"

"Oh...no reason. You just seemed really close, that's all" he shrugged and Halley nodded her head not really wanting to go where they would if she kept pressing on the matter

♢♢♢

"What if they don't wanna help?" Hawk looked at her worriedly, he knew they would need the help of both dojos to be able to accomplish the deck, but he knew he wasn't the most loved amongst the Miyagi-dos

"They will" she assured, nodding at him

"How do you know? As soon as they know I'm involved they won't wanna do it" she could clearly see how frustrated he was, he had let the feeling of control Cobra Kai provided consume him, all of his life people were always exerting force on him and with Karate he was the one now exerting force on others and he let that blind him

"Are you surprised?" she asked "You weren't the kindest to any of them, in fact, most of the people in Miyagi-do joined to go against Cobra kai"

"But I'm not in Cobra Kai now, I'm not like that anymore" He leaned his head in his knees

"I know that and I believe you" she put her hand on his shoulder and squeezed, he looked at her and relaxed under her touch "But they don't, and I don't blame them, If I was them I would also be really pissed and untrustful"

"Why aren't you?" he asked softly

"Because I knew you. I knew who you were before all this karate mess, you were my boyfriend...You were my best friend for god's sake. I know that whoever you were trying to be when you were in Cobra Kai was just a mask" she could she right through him, she knew it was a mask he was putting on, she just didn't know if he was ever gonna drop it, and she was glad he did "Why do you think Demetri let you back in his life so easily after what you did to him?" he looked down, he was clearly ashamed of himself for that "Because he knows you, and he knows you really regret everything you did" she squeezed his shoulder one more time "The other's don't but you just gotta give them time. Give them time to know the real you"

Halley LaRusso knew Eli Moskiwitz like the back of her hand, she could see right through him.

Hello, hello

This was a chapter for just Halley and Hawk, it's been a minute since we had one of these and to be honest, I was needing some fluff for my favorite couple after all of the drama.
