'I trust you can take care of this'
That was what Daniel Larusso had told his niece before walking away, he was expecting her to watch over Robby while he went to connect with mother nature, or something along the lines of that.
However there was not much Halley could explain other than why balance was so important in the Miyagi-do karate, and after a while she was left without words, all of Daniel's talks had been told and she just settled with meditation. That activity was something she discovered she enjoyed doing through Karate. There was a problem though, Robby would not stop falling from the tree, and that was not letting her focus. He had spent the last 30 minutes trying to accomplish his hook kick correctly
"If you keep falling like that you are gonna get a concussion" the girl said from her sitting position still with her eyes closed
"Ha.Ha" he sounded out of breath "You do it then if you are so good" Halley smirked, she had spent hours on that tree perfecting all of her moves, she wanted them to be perfect, and after more falls than she could count she managed to get them all right
"I think you forget I did this a thousand times already" she stood up from her place and hopped in the tree "Watch and learn" Robby did in fact pay attention to her, he was determined to get that kick right. He watched as she took a few seconds to breathe deeply and to stabilize herself, before raising her leg and throwing it foward with a lot of force allowing her body to spin and finish into the right position to end the move completely
"How?..." he was amazed, she did it so effortlessly, he was always being thrown off the tree because of the force of the kick
"You need to lock your knees, to prevent them from giving in" she jumped of the big branch "Also, everything needs to be sharper"

They didn't stop until Robby got the hang of the kick and he was doing it perfectly, and when he finally did it, they were ready to go home. On the way back Halley finally had some service, and the first thing she saw were tons of calls and messages from her boyfriend, and suddenly she remembered she didn't told him she wasn't gonna be able to respond, then again, she didn't thought it was a big deal, he sometimes spend a whole without calling her and she wouldn't freak out so bad.
She figured answering him at that moment or later wasn't gonna make much of a difference, if he was mad -which he was according to his texts- he was gonna be equally mad in two hours, she had a nice day and she refused her, very much changed boyfriend, ruin it
Halley's day kept getting better and better, when they arrived home they found Amanda, Lucille and Christine had made dinner together, were smiling to each other and were acting as if they had been bestfriends for years, it all looked out of Daniel and Diego's happiest dreams
"How?" Halley whispered with the two men walking behind her. Diego Larusso walked in with a glass of wine on his hand
"Don't ask. Just enjoy" he walked past them and directly to his wife, giving her a kiss on her temple
"You owe me, Big time" Sam walked in with a satisfied grin.
"You are a miracle worker, Sammy" Halley hugged her cousin and went to her parents, receiving a hug from them and warm smiles, it all felt nice to Halley, it had been a while since the whole family was together and she couldn't be happier

Halley and her parents went home after the very nice dinner, Robby stayed and they all had fun telling old stories and laughing about them. Halley's smile could be seen from a mile away, this however was erased when they got to their house. When they got off the car she saw her boyfriend standing in the porch, and he did not look happy
"I'll be inside in a minute" both of the older Larusso nodded and gave the two teens space. The brunette walked slowly to the blue-haired boy, and even if she didn't wanna admit it she was kinda intimidated by him "Hey" she said softly when they were standing close enough
"Hey? That's all you gonna say?" he was trying to keep his voice down so her parents wouldn't hear, but it was obvious he was angry
"I don't know what do you want me to tell you, Eli" her voice was defeated, she was happy the whole day and that conversation had already ruined her mood, and it was just starting
"Well, I don't know" he pretended to think "Maybe a reason as to why you disappeared the whole say and didn't answer me at all" he threw his hands to the sides in annoyance
"Why is that so upsetting to you? You have done the same thing before and I didn't gave you so much shit about it" she just hugged her body, it was late, she was freezing and she didn't have a sweater
"That sounds like a you situation" he rolled his eyes "Where were you anyway?"
"I was in the woods with my uncle and had no service" She avoided telling him about Robby being there as well, feeling that might just make things worse. Suddenly he remembered what Miguel had told him earlier about Daniel hating Cobra Kai and he started to get angry again out of nowhere
"And you couldn't have told me before?" his voice raised a little
"I forgot" she shrugged
"That's a shit excuse!" he wasn't yelling but Halley didn't like the tone he was using
"Again, I don't know what you want me to tell you!" she matched his tone because she would be damned if she let him talk to her like that
"You could maybe come up with something better!" his voice finally raised enough to be a scream
"There's nothing to come up with, that's the truth!" she wasn't gonna let him walk over her but she refused to scream because she didn't find it necessary, so she just decided to end the argument "You are being a douchebag, and I'm not fighting with you right now. I had a wonderful day and you already ruined it enough. Call me when you stop being stupid. Have a good night" and without letting him answered she just walked into her house and closed the door
Halley laid on her bed that night wondering if she walked away from that argument because she wanted to be the bigger person and prevent something bigger from happening or because she was scared of facing the problems of a teenage relationship. She knew Eli had changed and she thought it was for the better, but today she knew for a fact that the Eli she started dating wouldn't have reacted like that. She wondered if her uncle and grandma were right and Cobra Kai did create bad people. And then was the last wonder and it had her thinking more than the previous ones, maybe she was just being dramatic and she should apologize, maybe she should have told him she wasn't gonna be responding and he had the right to be mad.
Halley Larusso had spent her life being the tough girl everyone believed she was, she was smart and she was the kind of person you would ask advice to. But in reality when it came to situations of her personal life she was as lost as everyone else. It was supposed to be easy; she thought, of course she thought that, Eli was her best friend for years, she knew him like the back of her hand, but now she apparently didn't because everything was being complicated
Maybe that was her first mistake: Thinking dating Eli Moskowitz was the easiest thing she would experience
Oh, boy. How wrong she was
