Chapter 9

You were taking a walk like every morning, when the song you were listening to, suddenly interrupted. Your phone started to vibrate and you knew someone was calling you.
It was Hideki Ryuga.
You saw his name on the screen of your phone as you answered the call.
"Hi, Hideki!" you said in a surprised tone. "Hi..." Compared to you, his voice sounded without any emotion.

It was a week ago since you met for the first time, but you still didn't forget him.
How could you?
"Interested in another meeting?" he asked you coldly.
"I'd like to. And.. when?" you answered. "What about in 2 hours at the same coffee shop as last time?" "Agreed! See you there!" you said glad about his call. "Yeah, till then!" he responded and ended the call.
Still smiling you turned and went back home to prepare yourself. Not only your outer look but also yourself. You wanted to be prepared for his statements, which made you nervous and shocked you last time. You wanted to show him how much of a detective you really are.

You were on your way walking toward the coffee shop. Only some steps left and you will arrive the door. Then, you took a deep breath and closed your eyes. You were about to reach your hand to open the door, when...

..BAAAANNGGGGG..

You banged into someone and struggled backward to not fall down.
"Owww, sorry, I..." when you opened your eyes and lifted your head to see the person you banged into, you realized, that it was Hideki Ryuga.
"Uhh.., Hideki?? I, I'm sorry.." you surprised excused.
"(Alias)? No, it's ok, it was my mistake. I wasn't looking in front of me!" he explained and you wondered because the same happened to you. "No problem, neither did I." you responded and reached your hand to open the door, but Hideki was faster. "What a coincidence!" he said in a bored voice and opened the door for you.
Again, exactly as last time.
You smiled and walked in. "Thank you, Hideki!" you said and smiled at his pale face.

After you sat down in front of each other at an empty table in the front of the shop and ordered. You were about to start the conversation, but then you remembered, that Hideki already told you, you will get to know him better as soon as he made sure, that he can trust you. So you stayed quiet and waited for him to start the conversation somehow.
The waiter came and placed your order. It was a kind looking young man, who was smiling the whole time. 'Adorable!' you thought and smiled back as he placed the (sort) ice-cream with (sort of sauce) in front of you. You started to eat your ice-cream immediately, which showed how much you love it.
Hideki in contrast took the same order as last time. A big piece of strawberry cake and sweet tea.
You giggled when you remembered how you called it.
'Wet sugar'
you giggled again.
The waiter wished you a good appetite and went.
Then Hideki started to put several sugar cubes in his already sweetened tea.
Exactly as last time...

"Seems you enjoy ice-cream more than cake!" Hideki noted. You were about to put another bit of ice-cream into your mouth, but stopped in move and stared at the spoon.
He must have noticed you eating the ice-cream immediately and quickly in contrast to the cake, that you didn't even touch. "Oh..., hehe..." you blushed of embarrassment. "Yeah, I love ice-cream really much." you said and smiled.

For a while, no one said a word. Both of you were enjoying your favorite desserts.
You paused when you finished about half of the ice-cream. Then you lifted your head and faced Hideki, who was putting a big bite of cake into his mouth.
You waited.
Until he noticed you doing nothing, except for staring at him.
He paused eating and looked back at you. "Is something wrong, (your fake first name)?" he questioned.
"No, I just remembered, that we aren't here to enjoy our favorite desserts! I mean, you wanted to meet me, so I expect, that there is something special or important you wanted to talk about?!" you responded.
"Oh, I guess you are right!" Hideki said a little bit embarrassed, but it just sounded cold as usual.
Hideki moved his plate to his side and placed his hands on his knees, which were on his chest because of his weird sitting position. Then he started to talk.
