I got back to the house. I rushed in slamming the door against the wall.
"May! Mr. Stark! Someone help!"
Immediately Tony and Happy came into the living. "Parker what's going- GRACE!"
"What's wrong, why are you- oh my God, Peter you're covered in blood!" May said rushing over to Peter as her and Pepper made their way into the living room.
"What happened?!" Tony asked
"We went out for dinner and we got jumped by some guys with guns on our way back to the car. They tried taking Grace and when I was trying to get her one of the guys cut me with a knife on my shoulder, abdomen and chest. I think they drugged Grace."
"Friday? Read vitals!" Tony yelled out loud
"Vital signs appear however heart rate appears slightly slower, my analysis is she has been exposed to Chloroform."
"Is she gonna be okay?!" Pepper asked
"Yeah, but it'll take a while for her to wake up." Tony said sighing in relief. "How could this happen!"
"They came out of nowhere. Ah." I winced in pain as May tried to clean the blood from my skin with cotton and rubbing alcohol. "I was just trying to protect Grace and get her out of there before they took her."
"What could they possibly want with Grace, money?" Happy asked.
"They weren't in it for the money, Grace offered them money but they seem to only want to get back at Mr. Stark."
Mr. Stark kept checking on Grace and decided to take her upstairs to her room. As I heard his footsteps coming back downstairs he made his way over to me to see me with an ice pack being pressed underneath my left eye.
"Can I talk to you for a second?"
I nodded and stood up and walked outside with him. We we went and walked along the yard of the house.
"Thank you." He said quietly.
I looked up at him.
"What you did, you kept my daughter safe when she needed help. I can't ever forget something like that."
"Mr. Stark, you don't need to say thank you."
"Kid, there's not a single person outside of my closed circle that I trust with my daughter. She is my world, I am grateful for what you did." He came forward and gave me a hug. "I cant imagine what I would do without her."
I pulled away from the hug wincing in pain. "Yup I think I have a broken rib."
"I think I have something in the lab that can help with that kid."
"It's okay, it'll heal in a few hours." I said reminding him of my ability to heal rapidly.
"Why don't you go upstairs and get some rest kid."
"That actually sounds like a good idea." As I walked back inside I made my way to the top of the stairs to see Grace's bedroom door wide open. Probably so Mr. Stark can hear when she wakes up. I walked over to her room and pulled up a chair next to her bedside to be there for her when she wakes up. I went to get her a glass of water from the sink and some Advil from the medicine cabinet knowing she was going to probably wake up to the worst headache ever.
I sat down with my back facing the door and my head staring at the floor. I decided to close my eyes and before I knew it I drifted off into a light sleep.
I was woken up to the sound of some shuffling. I immediately recognized it as Grace.
"Hey hey hey take it easy." I said helping her sit up.
"Peter? What happened?" She said confused with her eyes squinting as she adjusted to the light in the room.
"We were attacked but we're at the house now. You're okay, I'm here for you."
"Peter your eye, it bruised." She said holding herself up from the bed.
"Yeah it's okay it'll be gone by morning." I said giving her a light smile.
"My head hurts." She said as she rubbed her forehead.
"Yeah the guy got you pretty good with the chloroform. I got you some Advil, it should help with the headache." I said handing her the single packaged pill and the glass of water. As she finished taking the sip of water I took the glass from her hand and placed it on her night stand.
"The last thing I remember is the a group of men with guns coming up to us."
"Yeah they wanted to take you but don't worry about them, I promise you your safe. No matter what I'll be here for you, I promise to keep you safe. They will never lay a finger on you again."
"You- you saved me."
"It's nothing."
"It's not nothing Peter. I was in trouble and you saved me."
I gave her a weak smile.
"Thank you Peter." She said stretching over and giving me a kiss on the cheek.
"You should get some rest. I'll be here."
She gave me a smile as I stood up and turned off the light. As I sat back down on the chair with my arms folded across my chest looking out the window she laid a throw blanket over my lap and turned to lay on her side facing me. She grabbed my hand.
"I will never forget this Peter, thank you for keeping me safe. I don't know what I would do without you." With that she closed her eyes and drifted off into sleep still holding my hand.
