Shehnaaz was standing before the window of her room, looking out at the main road. Her gaze was stuck on the road lights and the moving vehicles, but her mind was on a trip down memory lane. She remembered all the good times that she had spent with her family. And then, all of a sudden, she recalled the harsh patch of her life that she had been fighting through. Her miseries and insecurities came to light when she realised that she had just had a conversation with her mother and how uncertain she was about her dad's declining health.
Amidst all the remembrances and her walk down the memory lane, her phone flashed with a message. The message was from an unknown number. Shehnaaz glanced at her phone screen with her eyes full of surprise and opened the message to read it.
"Hello,
MISS SHEHNAAZ ,
I HAVE SEEN YOUR PROFILE AT THE FERTILITY CENTRE. And I am interested in your surrogacy service. I WOULD LIKE TO SCHEDULE A MEETING WITH YOU FOR THE SAME DAY. If it's convenient for you, can we meet tomorrow at 4 PM? Also, I will send you the address in a while. You can call me any time if you have any doubts about this.
See you then.
I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING YOU TOMORROW. "
Regards
Sidharth Shukla
At the end of the message, there was a name written: Sidharth Shukla .
Shehnaaz read the message twice. She wondered if this person was the one who was interested in the profile that the doctor was talking about. Her fear reached its extreme with every passing minute. She was in a dilemma about choosing one of the two choices that the circumstances had put forth before her. She could not choose whether to go and meet the client or not.
That is when her phone flashed with another message from the same unknown number from which the previous message was sent a few moments ago. He had sent across the address. Shehnaaz glanced at the phone's screen and tapped on it to open the message and read,
"I WILL BE AT HOTEL EMPIRE IN ROOM NUMBER 605.....
MEET ME THERE AT 4 PM."
Her gaze widened in surprise with every word of the message that she read. She was clueless and wondered why he had sent the address of a hotel. Why did he choose to hold the meeting at a hotel? The meeting could have happened at any other place. What makes this hotel unique?? Shehnaaz had all these questions echoed in her mind that she wished to get the answers to.
Shehnaaz found it a lot more suspicious than it appeared to be. She observed more coatings attached to what she was seeing on the surface. She became more anxious and restless upon thinking about the meeting with the client that was scheduled for the next day.
How would she manage to get rid of it if this meeting turned out to be a trap? She wondered if she had invited a problem by herself.
"I have dug my own grave," she mumbled.
But then she remembered doctor swati 's saying that the clients were quite genuine. She wanted to trust her, but how could shehnaaz believe in Dr. Swati when she had not known her for a long time? Shehnaaz had just met Dr. Swati twice.
Who would know if Dr. Swati was a part of the trap?
The more shehnaaz thought about the meeting with the client, the more restless she became. Finally, shehnaaz concluded that if the meeting was subjected to surrogacy, there might be a couple present in the hotel room.
Shehnaaz attempted to comfort her heart and assumed things were normal. She assured herself that there was nothing to worry about the meeting when there would be both husband and wife present in the room.
