Sidharth and shehnaaz had come to the fertility clinic. Shehnaaz's medical tests were to be conducted today. Before entering Dr. Swati's cabin, sidharth told shehnaaz that she could change her decision if she wanted to, because once they proceeded with the process, she could not step back.

"It's too late for you to ask this question, Mr. Shukla . Shall we get inside the doctor's cabin? " Shehnaaz smiled at him.

Having said that, shehnaaz pushed the door open and sought Dr. Swati's permission.
"May we come in, doctor?"

Doctor swati appeared to have been doing some work on her laptop when she heard a voice from the door. Shifting her gaze towards the door, she realised it was shehnaaz . "Oh hi... Shehnaaz . Please come inside. I was waiting for you both."

Shehnaaz entered the room with a weak smile on her face. Sidharth followed her lead. Dr. Swati and sidharth shook hands with each other, and thereafter, they got seated in the chair.

"So, are you both ready for the procedure? I hope you both have had all the necessary discussions. And shehnaaz , have you understood it all clearly? If you still have some doubt in your mind, you can ask away, "Dr. Swati questioned them both.

"Yeah doctor, I am ready," Shehnaaz replied.

Dr. Swati smiled at her."OK, then we will begin with the procedure. So, shehnaaz , there would be a complete body checkup. I would conduct a few tests just to ensure that you are healthy enough to conceive a baby. "

Shehnaaz nodded her head. "Ok, doctor." She said,

Though she did not let her nervousness show on her face, her heart was pounding hard and she was anxious enough to feel shivers inside her body. She had all the fingers of her hands intertwined with each other and was rubbing them in anxiety.

Sidharth could observe the nervousness in her actions. In fact, he too was very restless.

"Doctor, how much time would it take for the reports to come?" He questioned

"Umm... You might get a few of them tomorrow, but the rest of the reports would take 3 to 4 days to come. " Dr. Swati informed him.

Sidharth nodded his head and quoted his affirmation in a low-pitched voice. "Okay"...

The way he responded to the doctor made it obvious that he was desperate for the reports to come in. Shehnaaz felt bad that sidharth was only concerned about the reports and least worried about her well-being. All that mattered to him were the reports. And he desperately wanted the reports to return to normal so that the process of surrogacy could be commenced further.

How insensitive is he? For once, he didn't even care to ask about me. But why would he do that? Why would he be concerned about me? After all, I am nobody to him. He has hired me to fulfil his purpose, and it is obvious to him that he is worried about the reports, She made assumptions about sidharth in her head.

Dr. Swati went out of the cabin for some time. Shehnaaz had not gotten a moment of relief since she had entered the cabin. Her forehead was layered with droplets of sweat due to the nervousness she had been experiencing. She was struggling with her fears.

Sidharth , on the other hand, had his eyes stuck on shehnaaz . He observed the anxiety she was struggling with. "Shehnaaz , are you alright? You have been sweating profusely. I hope you are keeping well, "he politely asked.

Shehnaaz wiped off the droplets of sweat from her forehead. "Yes, of course. I'm fine. It's all good." While she was replying to sidharth , she did not make contact with him, rather her eyes were wandering around the room and looking at the stuff kept in Dr. Swati's cabin. As if she had been asked to memorise the names of all the things kept in the cabin.
