30. Is She Pregnant?

It was all of a sudden that Shehnaaz had fallen sick and she had become restless to know what had happened to her. Her mind was reverberating with numerous thoughts when suddenly, something came to her mind.

"These symptoms, umm... these indications might be of pregnancy. Yeah, it's possible that I might be pregnant, "she wondered. The moment Shehnaaz realised that she could be pregnant, it was almost next to impossible for her to even spend a minute in relief. Time seemed to have stopped.

The first thing that Shehnaaz wanted to do was to get confirmation on whether the symptoms were of pregnancy or something else. And the first name that came to her mind was Dr. swati . It was only Dr. Swati who could confirm her pregnancy.

Shehnaaz was all geared up to visit the fertility centre at 9 a.m. sharp. Her mind was occupied with numerous thoughts, and one of them was whether she should call Sidharth and inform him about her condition. The situation that she was in appeared a little more confusing to her. She wondered if she was pregnant, Sidharth would not want to miss the chance to be confronted with the good news. But then, in the very next moment, Shehnaaz wondered what might happen if she was not pregnant or things didn't go as she assumed.

"Oh God, please help me... show me the way ahead." She sighed.

Shehnaaz was holding her phone in her hand and was staring at the screen. Amidst the stillness of the room, the door suddenly opened and Jasmine came inside. "Hey, are you ready?"

Shehnaaz was surprised when she shifted her gaze to jasmine , who was standing at the door. "Ready...? For what?" Shehnaaz questioned

"We have to go and see a doctor. and I am asking if you are ready, then we shall proceed. I have already called Dr. Peter and made an appointment. We would have to be there at 10:00 a.m. Let's go." Jasmine informed her.

Shehnaaz tried to deny the plan with Jasmine , and she even started framing her excuse, but jasmine immediately interrupted and did not allow her to say a word. "Oh please Shehnaaz , please don't say no. We have to go to the doctor. "

"Jasmine , listen to me at least. I am not saying that we should not go and see a doctor. What I am more concerned about is that I don't think we should go to see Dr. Peter. Rather, we should go to Dr. Swati , " Shehnaaz stated.

Jasmine was confused and did not understand. "But why do you want to go and meet Dr. Swati ?" She asked.

Shehnaaz glanced at her phone's screen and almost whispered when she replied to jasmine .

"I think..Jasmine .. Umm. I think I'm pregnant," she answered in a soft tone.

Hearing her, Jasmine screamed at her
extreme pitch, "What...? What did you
just say, Shehnaaz ?"

"I said, I am pregnant. See... Jasmine... I'm not sure, but these symptoms clearly indicate that I am pregnant, "Shehnaaz replied.

Jasmine was scared, and the fear was clearly visible on her face.

"What would you do now? How would you handle it all alone? Oh God, what will happen now?" Jasmine said.

Shehnaaz held Jasmine on her shoulder and made her sit beside her on the bed.

"Relax, Jasmine ! You seemed more nervous than I was. This was bound to happen someday. I mean, I have undergone the process of surrogacy and this was the only result that was expected out of it. Anyway, what am I supposed to do now? Should I call
Sidharth and inform him?" Shehnaaz asked.

Jasmine took a little time to process the fact and replied to Shehnaaz . "Yeah, I think you should call him. After all, he might be waiting for this day to come."
