Sidharth did not wait for shehnaaz to complete her speech and informed her. "Don't worry shehnaaz . There is nothing to worry about. The doctor wanted me to get a few tests done. And she wanted to have a word with me about the same."
Shehnaaz found it weird. She wondered, 'Wow that's great. The doctor openly discussed all the details of my tests before him but when it came to him being tested, surprisingly she wanted to have the conversation in private. Does this even make sense?'
Sidharth made his way out of the hospital, and shehnaaz had no choice other than to follow his lead.
After a while, when they had come out of the hospital premises, sidharth glanced at Shehnaaz and asked her, "shehnaaz , are you alright?"
Shehnaaz was surprised to be asked this question. "Yes, I'm keeping well. But why did you say that? What happened?" She answered.
"Umm... Actually, you looked quite upset while we were in the doctor's cabin. I was just inquisitive to know,"he replied.
Shehnaaz made a weird face and justified herself, "Actually, I don't like being at hospitals. I feel suffocated in this atmosphere and kind of fall ill. And today I got so many tests done. This has left me feeling nauseous. But now I am fine. I'm good."
Sidharth opened the door of his car and asked, "Come on... Get inside. I will drop you at the hostel."
"Oh... Please don't worry. There is no need to drop me at the hostel. I am feeling way better now, and I am sure I can manage it alone. I don't want to trouble you. Please carry on,"Shehnaaz responded.
"Ah, please get in. There's nothing like you would be troubling me. The sky has grown dark and it's quite late at night. It won't be safe for you to travel by yourself. Come on, I will drop you at the hostel." Sidharth insisted.
'If someone would catch a glimpse of me stepping out of his car, I would become the center of attraction and might get showered with numerous questions. The questions that I won't be able to answer. No way, that's such a bad idea of him dropping me at the hos- tel. You would have to politely decline the offer, shehnaaz. It would be great if you could go back to the hostel by yourself.' She thought.
Sidharth still had the door of his car opened and was waiting for shehnaaz to say yes. As he had earlier quoted that he doesn't like to hear a no.
"What happened, Miss Shehnaaz? What are you thinking about? Get inside the car," He questioned again.
Shehnaaz thought of making an excuse rather than declining his request directly. "No, I actually had some unfinished business in the market to be done. So I was thinking i should get my work done and then have a quick walk to the hostel," Shehnaaz replied.
"Oh, okay... Then allow me to drop you off at the market." Sidharth stated .
Shehnaaz got irritated when sidharth behaved stubbornly. She mumbled to herself, "oh God, why is he behaving that way? He has stuck on me as a honey bee sticks around the honeycomb. Until yesterday, he wasn't even talking to me nicely."
Shehnaaz did not understand how to refrain sidharth from coming along with her. While she was thinking about some other excuse, sidharth received a call on his phone. He closed the door and walked at a distance to pick the call. Shehnaaz was standing beside his car and was thinking about how to stop him from coming along.
After a while, sidharth came back to her and apologized, "I am sorry shehnaaz . An urgent meeting has popped up. And I simply cannot avoid it. Let me book a cab for you to reach the hostel safely."
Shehnaaz expressed her thanks to God and replied, "No, Mr. Shukla ... Please don't bother. You have an urgent meeting and I think you should give it your priority. I can definitely manage on my own. I will take the subway or the bus to the hostel."
