Sidharth didn't seem appreciative of the news being told to him. In rage, his eyes had turned bright red, and he rose from his chair.
"What are you talking about, Maya? This is just not possible. How did you guys make such a big decision without asking me? You didn't even care to let me know once? "It's my life and nobody is entitled to make decisions on my behalf," Sidharth yelled in anger.
For a moment, Maya got scared upon seeing Sidharth furious. But she got up from the chair and gathered enough strength to put forth her opinion.
"But what is the problem, Sidharth? You can not live your whole life alone. In all the ups and downs, there is a strong desire to have a partner by one's side. You haven't been dating anyone... There's no girlfriend, no hookups... You will get married someday. Then why not now? " Maya replied coldly.
Her words enraged Sidharth all the more, and he punched his fist on the table in anger.
"Maya, I don't have the time to entertain all this nonsense. I do not feel the urge to have a partner, nor do I want to get married. I fail to understand why you people don't get this straight in your heads. And why am I supposed to give you an explanation? If you know everything, then how could you agree to marry me, Maya? What's the harm? You call yourself my friend, right? I could at least expect you to understand my feelings, Maya," Maya shouted.
Maya pushed her chair back and placed both her hands on the table. She was agitated to hear that same old excuse that Sidharth had been giving her. "Oh! Come on, Sidharth. What feelings are you talking about? And let me make it clear that I don't need to understand anything. You are the one who needs to face reality. An individual can never build a future if he is still stuck in his past. You need to rise above your past and embrace the future. Consider it an accident that happened in your life and move on in life. People are bound to come and go; it's the cycle of life... It's totally out of your control, Sidharth. You need to get this in your head. Irrespective of the events or incidents, life goes on," Maya shouted back.
"You have to accept that Maira is now gone from your life. It's time to rewrite the pages of your life that you left blank. Please don't tell me that you still love Maira . Are you still waiting for her?"
Sidharth sat down. He continued his speech, but his tone was comparatively soft, "There is nothing like that. Maya, I am neither waiting for her nor in love with her anymore. I know she is gone from my life. Her chapter is over now. "
Maya also took her seat. She was annoyed with his continuous denial of the wedding.
"Then what's wrong with you? You don't have any problems with me, do you? I hope not, because I am confident that you won't find a better girl than me I fail to understand what's wrong." Maya questioned him arrogantly.
