Maya had left no chance to poke fun at Sidharth and degrade him. Sidharth didn't react to her harsh and heartbreaking taunts but his heart ached to the core when Maya confronted her with his past.
On the other hand, Maya's words had now exceeded Shehnaaz's tolerance. Shehnaaz couldn't resist venting her anger.
"Sidharth is not weak. Rather, he is the strongest person I have ever met. Nobody other than him could have bravely faced the media scrutiny and allegations that people threw at him. Though the incident happened a few years ago, he has been going through its aftermath up till now. He was brave enough to step out of that depressing situation and establish himself as a successful businessman. One needs to possess immense strength and courage to bounce back from a scratch and build an empire on their own. And Sidharth has the capability and strength to do so. I don't think any other person could have sustained the mental trauma that he would have gone through. He considered the situation an opportunity to prove himself to the world. Do you think a weak man would have done that?" Shehnaaz yelled confidently.
Sidharth was elated to see that Shehnaaz could not bear somebody insulting him and also had the capability to give them back. Shehnaaz was supporting him and Sidharth was happy that she considered him to be the strongest man she had ever met. There was nothing else in the world that Sidharth could have asked for. Maya's opinion about him was not at all important to Sidharth now.
It gave him immense joy and confidence that Shehnaaz considered him to be the strongest and bravest of all.
Though Sidharth was feeling relieved to see Shehnaaz holding a positive opinion about him, meanwhile, Maya was not at all happy about Shehnaaz taking Sidharth's side.
"You seem to know Sidharth very well. But who are you? Do you work at his office?" Maya asked arrogantly as she continued to stare at Shehnaaz.
"Actually, I am..." before Shehnaaz could have completed her sentence, Sidharth intervened and replied, "Had I not told you that she is my friend."
He then shifted his gaze to Shehnaaz, with love-filled eyes. "She is my best friend," he mentioned.
Maya glared at Shehnaaz. She was fuming with anger. It was obvious that Maya was jealous of Shehnaaz. She made a weird face and announced, "umm... I had never thought, even in my wildest dreams, that you would be so desperate. so desperate that you would choose such a girl as your friend. But you know, you have always made a mistake in identifying the true colours of a person. You had chosen the wrong girl earlier, and I'm afraid you could not make the right choice again. Anyway, I don't have a say in your life. It's your decision after all."
It was because of Shehnaaz that a smile had come on Sidharth's face but Maya successfully managed to turn it into gloom again. When Maya noticed the lines of worry on Sidharth's face, she quickly modulated her tone and asked him cheerfully. "Ah... My darling, we have met after so many years. Let's hang out sometime soon. Well, I am a little caught up today with my meetings. You could do one thing: give me your number and I'll call you whenever I get time. We'll have a good time together, okay?"
