22. I Hate Questions

Shehnaaz had an impeccable impact on her mind from his words. She was impressed with the way his thought process was. She could not believe that it was Sidharth , who she had known for so many days and had never come across the shade of his personality. She had never thought that this arrogant man could have such a sense of responsibility and deep thinking. Shehnaaz was infuriated at Sidharth when she came to meet him, but her anger melted like butter in a hot pan.

She hesitated before speaking a word, "I understand your concern and relate to every word that you just said. But I was worried about the media. I don't want to be under a scanner all the time. Neither do I want to be under camera jurisdiction nor become the victim of people's taunts and mocking opinions. And you might be aware of how people perceive or treat a surrogate mother. I'm not blaming every one of them, but a few people in society look down upon women who opt to become surrogate mothers. People do not accept or digest such things easily. Neither have I told my family about being a surrogate, nor do I want them to know about it. "I have decided that I would shift to a different place rather than stay in my hostel then. And for that, I would have to choose a place where most people do not know me. With people not being aware of my identity, it would become easy for me to complete my pregnancy period. "

Sidharth listened to her with a calm state of mind and gave it a thought.

She noticed how everything about him was so proper and sophisticated. He was wearing a coffee-coloured suit that had white lining all over it. He had paired it with a white shirt. His hair was set with the help of hair gel. Glancing down to his wrist, shehnaaz noticed a brand new, exquisite watch. Sidharth was standing at the window, keeping one of his hands in his pocket and holding the phone with the other.

"Oh damn... He has got some serious style and a sense of fashion. He has a style in everything he does or speaks. And what was more surprising to me was how he behaved today. He was quite different from his usual arrogant self. That means he has manners and is even aware of how to use them,"shehnaaz thought. She did not even blink once while she was staring at him.

"Look at him. How handsome and charming he is. How could a girl abandon such a good looking man in the middle of a wedding? I wondered what might have happened that led to the girl eloping from the wedding.

Shehnaaz was engrossed in her thoughts, and sidharth was by then done with his conversation over the phone. He smiled when he said bye over the phone, and shehnaaz noticed the dimple that appeared on his cheeks. It gave her a chilling sensation. Sidharth disconnected the call and went to shehnaaz . She was still staring at him with a smile on her face. She didn't realise it when he came and stood before her. Sidharth felt a little weird when he saw shehnaaz gazing at him.

"What happened Shehnaaz?" He questioned

Shehnaaz was surprised to be called by sidharth and was drawn back to reality. She stammered while replying to him. "No.... No.... nothing." She was embarrassed that Sidharth caught her in the act. She immediately lifted her gaze away from him. And now she was looking at the design of the carpet positioned on the floor.
