Shehnaaz was enraged at Sidharth when she reached the coffee shop where they had decided to meet. They discussed Shehnaaz's wanting to go back to her hometown and meet her parents because she would not be able to see them for an entire year. Eventually, the conversation concluded in her favour as Dr. Swati granted her permission to visit her parents. Shehnaaz was on cloud nine when she was on her way back to the hostel after her meeting with Sidharth.
She reached her hostel and found jasmine waiting for her already. Seeing her, Jasmine propelled a question at Shehnaaz : "Where have you been, Shehnaaz ? I was worried about you."
Shehnaaz elaborated to jasmine about what happened between her and Sidharth and continued, "I'm going home this evening."
Jasmine grew anxious and was worried about Shehnaaz .
"Have you thought of any excuse, that you would be presenting before your parents? I mean, you would have to give them a reason why you won't be able to meet them for the entire coming year. Have you thought of something yet?" She asked.
Shehnaaz replied to her question seriously, "Yes, I have thought about it. I will tell my parents that I have been selected by a company through campus placements and that the boss has decided to appoint me to the sister branch in Washington City. And I won't be able to come home and meet them for the entire year due to my job."
Shehnaaz didn't want to lie to her family, but she was left with no other choice. She was bound to tell a lie to her parents. Even jasmine was concerned about Shehnaaz . She placed her arm on her shoulder and rubbed it a little.
"Don't worry, baby. Everything is going to be alright," Jasmine assured her.
Shehnaaz took out the suitcase she had kept on the top of her cupboard. "I hope Jasmine says it does," Shehnaaz sighed.
Shehnaaz packed her clothes as she had to leave for home in the evening. Jasmine helped her.
The flight was scheduled for 5 pm. Shehnaaz left for the railway station and boarded the flight on time.
Shehnaaz had not told her parents that she would be coming over. Her family members were delighted and surprised when they saw Shehnaaz at the door. Her mother burst into tears upon seeing her dearest daughter. With an immediate reaction, she embraced Shehnaaz in her arms.
What a pleasant surprise! How did you plan to come over, uninformed?" She questioned
Mom, I wanted to surprise you all. And hence, I didn't tell you about me coming home. How have you been, mom? Shehnaaz answered.
"I am fine, baby." Her mom responded,
Shehnaaz went to her father's room to meet him. She realised that he had grown weak. Her father was lying on the bed and looked pale. He was still recovering from the surgery. Shehnaaz sat beside him and glanced at him.
"I hope you're recuperating well," she asked.
Her dad smiled at her when he saw his daughter after so long.
Yeah, I'm pretty good. How have you been, Shehnaaz ? And what about your studies? "he asked her.
"Everything is going well, dad," Shehnaaz answered.
Her mom still had tears in her eyes when she expressed, "Shehnaaz , had you not sent across the money at the right time, we would not have been able to get your dad's surgery done. Shehnaaz 's mother expressed, "I don't want to even imagine what might have happened."
Shehnaaz wrapped her arms around her mother and comforted her, "Mom, it's all sorted now. Then why do you worry?"
"But Shehnaaz , I have been wondering, how did you arrange the money?" Her father asked inquisitively.
