Giggling and laughing, both the girls lay down on the bed. Shehnaaz took a deep breath before she said, "It doesn't matter how harsh my day was, but your good news made it better in all the possible ways. It lifted my mood. You really made my day, Jasmine . I heard a piece of good news after a long time. And trust me, it was soothing to my heart to stumble upon such news at the end of the day."
Jasmine got up all of a sudden and focused her gaze on shehnaaz .
"I loved it too and I also got the opportunity to meet the shehnaaz who you used to be back in time. I saw the long-lost smile on your face today and trust me, there is nothing more beautiful than the enchanting smile that you have. I wish to see you smiling always and beyond."
Shehnaaz was overwhelmed with love and got up to embrace her best friend in her arms.
The next morning, the college premises were reverberating with the whispers and mutterings that Jasmine and shehnaaz had been selected to have lunch with the guests coming for the seminar. A few of the students congratulated them whereas a bunch of them were envious. Whatever might be the reason, the girls had become famous overnight.
Both of them were immersed in the preparations as they had to present a research paper before the guests and there was so much to be done.
Shehnaaz had almost forgotten about the reports of the medical tests. No other thought prevailed in her mind except for the paper that she had to present before the speakers. It was a golden chance for her career and could prove to be the best opportunity that she had ever got. It could be a game-changer for her career.
One fine evening when Jasmine and shehnaaz were in the library preparing for the paper that they had to present before the guests, her phone vibrated. Shehnaaz when glanced at her phone saw Sidharth's name flashing on the screen.
She excused her friend and walked out of the library. Shehnaaz moved to the parking lot and laid her back on a car parked at the space and picked the call.
"Hi Shehnaaz , how are you?" She heard a deep husky voice from the other end. Shehnaaz wanted to enquire about his well-being but she was afraid of his deep husky voice. And henceforth, she didn't utter a word. However, sidharth did not wait for her to respond; he continued his speech instead.
"Shehnaaz , we have to go to the fertility clinic to fetch your reports tomorrow," he spoke
Shehnaaz scratched her head a little and replied to him, "umm... Okay. Yeah, I remember that. I will get there on time."
"OK, then I will see you at the fertility clinic at 10 am tomorrow."
"But... I have my class at 10 am. I will be able to make it around 2 pm." Shehnaaz immediately reasoned.
Sidharth ordered, "Then I am afraid you might have to miss your class. Because I won't be able to wait until 2 p.m. And it's final that we will meet at 10 a.m. in the fertility clinic." His pitch was high and dictating.
Shehnaaz obviously felt bad but could not say anything.
The seminar was about to be conducted in a month and she did not have much time to dedicate to the preparations that she was doing for presenting the paper. And likewise, she could not miss her classes.
She insisted on him, "Look, Mr. Shukla , please try and understand. I'll be there at the fertility clinic after my classes are over."
"As I have already made it clear that I won't wait for you. You will have to be there at 10:00 a.m. sharp." Sidharth stated in his husky voice. Sidharth did not give her a moment to reciprocate and disconnected the call.
