"Mom, my wedding gown requires a little alteration. Could you please get that done for me? Also, I had to discuss the wedding favors that will be given to the guests. Give me some time. Let me talk to Shehnaaz and then get back to you. Okay?"... Jasmine elaborated on the to- do list.
Shehnaaz was listening to her from the other end of the call and realised that she could not attend her best friend's wedding. It pricked her to the core of her heart and caused her pain.
Soon, Jasmine diverted her attention towards Shehnaaz , who was waiting for her to respond on the other end of the call.
"Hey, my darling, how are you? Tell me you had a word with Sidharth?" Jasmine spoke dramatically.
Listening to her, Shehnaaz laughed at her question.
"Leave all that... Tell me... How does it feel to be a bride? I can't even express my excitement. You're getting married... Jasmine ... WOW. You're going to marry the man you've loved from all your heart and soul. What's your take upon getting married to the love of your life? Huh..." Shehnaaz chuckled and asked.
"Umm... you know Shehnaaz ... I'm more than happy to begin this new journey with Aly . It makes me delighted that we would be sharing a space together, our sweet little abode," Jasmine expressed emotionally. Her eyes gleamed with joy while she answered Shehnaaz . And even Shehnaaz could sense the happiness in her voice over the phone call.
"You know, I can feel thousands of butterflies fluttering in my stomach. It has been rightly said that every bride has to go through these pre-wedding jitters," Jasmine laughed but all of sudden she became quiet. Before Shehnaaz could inquire about her silence, Jasmine broke the stillness.
"Apart from all the happiness and bliss, it's heartbreaking not to see you around. Your absence from my wedding is the reason I get sad in the middle of my excitement. I even dropped the idea of having a bridal shower just because you couldn't attend it. How could I hold a bridal shower without my best friend? Shehnaaz & I have been planning my wedding soon after I got engaged. And it's disheartening that we could not turn those plans into reality. This doesn't feel like a celebration without you, "sighing Jasmine expressed.
Shehnaaz was also upset that she could not make it to the wedding. But she chose to console her best friend instead. "Don't be sad, my love. You are going to get married to the man you have loved the most and nothing is more important than that, trust me. And as far as my presence at your wedding is concerned, I might not be there physically but you have all my best wishes for your married life ahead. You're an inseparable part of my life, jasmine ... you will always find me lingering around you." Shehnaaz replied with a laugh.
