Shehnaaz had shifted to Sidharth's apartment. It was the next morning, but Shehnaaz had not seen Sidharth around. Later, at the breakfast table, Shehnaaz inquired about him from Rose. She informed her about Sidharth's leaving for somewhere soon after he had dropped Shehnaaz home.
Shehnaaz was worried about him. She feared he had left home because he had to share the space with her. She assumed that maybe he was repenting his decision to ask her to move in. Shehnaaz grabbed her phone and dialled Sidharth's number but did not get any response from him. It made Shehnaaz even more restless.
"What could have happened? Sidharth had brought me here so that he could look after me, but now I can't even see him around. He could have at the very least called me to inform me, or he could have answered my call right how careless he could be ". She mumbled to herself.
Shehnaaz had become so engrossed in her thoughts that she had forgotten about breakfast. She was just rotating the spoon on the plate unwillingly while her mind was stuck on the thought that she had called Sidharth and he had not received her call. Rose was standing near the table and saw that Shehnaaz was not having her breakfast.
"What happened, ma'am? Why not eat something? Don't you like pancakes? Shall I make something else for you?" She asked.
Shehnaaz's thoughts were interrupted by Rose's words, and she responded by coming out of her thoughts. "Umm... no... yeah, these are delicious. But umm... I don't feel like eating anything right now, "Shehnaaz responded.
Despite Shehnaaz's denial, Rose insisted, "Ma'am, please have some. Sir has instructed me to take proper care of you and serve your meals on time. I might get into trouble if Sir knew that You had'nt had your breakfast . Please ma'am have a few bites atleast ."
Shehnaaz could not decide whether to vent her anger or express her happiness. "Sidharth is so caring towards me. But if he was so worried about me, he should have let me know before leaving the apartment and at least informed me when he would come back. I think he has left me here on Rose's responsibility and got himself busy at work. What am I supposed to do now? Should I call him again?" She wondered.
Shehnaaz dialled Sidharth's number once again. But he declined the call. Shehnaaz was fuming with anger by then. Before she could think of anything further, her phone's screen popped up with a message. It was from Sidharth. She opened the message immediately and read it.
i'm sorry that i couldn't take your call. i have been caught up at work. i hope you are comfortable at home. i am just a text away if you need anything. as of now, i won't be able to attend your calls. take care. "
Shehnaaz was relieved to have received the message.
"Phew... Thank God that he does not have a problem with me. And he was just having a busy day at work. How much do I overthink it?" She sighed in relief and continued to have her breakfast. Shehnaaz finished her pancakes and went back to her room.
"I have the entire day to myself ahead, but no work to do. What am I supposed to do now?" Shehnaaz thought.
Shehnaaz came out of her room and began to wander around the apartment. There was a room just opposite hers. She was too scared to unlock the door and peep inside. But she gathered courage and opened the door with her hand, shivering in fear. She had assumed it was Sidharth's room and found it inappropriate to trespass in his room when Sidharth wasn't home. She was closing the door immediately after she opened it. But then, something caught her attention. There was a system kept in the room. Driven by her curiosity, Shehnaaz stepped inside the room. She was surprised to discover that it was not Sidharth's room. She neither saw a bed nor a wardrobe in the room and realised that it was an office or a study.
