10. Friend In Need

Shehnaaz was in her room, doing nothing but lying on her bed, lost in her thoughts. Soon, she was interrupted by a phone call. Glancing at her phone, she realised that it was a call from her home. Shehnaaz picked the call without any delay and was surprised to hear the sobbing sounds of her younger sister sahiba from the other end.

Within a split second, she got up and was frightened. All the negative thoughts made their way to her mind and made her more restless.

What happened to you, sahiba ? Why are you crying? Is everything alright? Dad...? " Shehnaaz could not say anything further.

"Shehnaaz ...", "Dad...", " All of a sudden, his health deteriorated. The doctor has asked us to get him admitted to the hospital at the earliest. But you know that we have to deposit the admission charges beforehand. We do not have a single penny at home. Mom tried hard to convince the administration to admit Dad today and requested if she could deposit the fee in a day or two. She has decided to sell off her jewellery so that we can arrange the money and get him admitted to the hospital.

But the people in the administration block refused to do so. This whole situation has created a panic and Dad's health is deteriorating every minute.shehnaaz , could you please do something as soon as possible... please?" Sahiba elaborated on the entire situation and begged.

Shehnaaz was bewildered to know about her father's declining health. It was not even possible for her to arrange the money at such short notice. But still, she assured her younger sister, "Don't worry sahiba . I will try and make sure things work in our favor. I will call you again some time, until then, take care of mum and dad. Shehnaaz disconnected the call.

Shehnaaz had assured her younger sister that she would make things work but she could not find a way to arrange money on such short notice.

"The only person that I could seek help from is Jasmine ," She mumbled to herself.

As soon as her name popped up in her mind shehnaaz rushed to her room. Shehnaaz knocked at the door and waited for Jasmine to open the door for her.

After a while, when jasmine opened the door, shehnaaz went straight inside the room. Jasmine was half asleep and yawning. It was obvious that she was forced to wake up in the middle of the night.

"Jasmine , there's a problem. I need your help. " Shehnaaz expressed panic.

Sleep vanished from Jasmine 's eyes and she was alarmed when she heard the word problem.

What happened to you, shehnaaz ? I hope everything is fine at your home,"she anxiously asked."

On being asked by jasmine , shehnaaz explained to her the conversation that she had with her younger sister sahiba over the phone. With every word that shehnaaz was speaking, jasmine 's expressions changed from normal to tense.

We don't have much time on our hands. How could we think of a way to arrange the money in such a short time?" She stated

Shehnaaz was hesitant but she had no other choice than to seek help.

"Jasmine , I know it is very awkward, but please ask aly if he could help. Tell him that I will return the money as soon as possible. It would be great if he could help me. It is urgent, as you know, that Dad is in the hospital and he needs to get admitted shehnaaz requested .

Jasmine picked up her phone, lying on the bed, to call her fiance, Aly .

"Oh yes, of course... we could have asked him earlier, but why didn't his name come to my mind? Anyway, let me call him." Jasmine exclaimed,
"I am sure that he could be of some help."
