26. An Unwilling Mistake

Dr. Swati had gone, and now Sidharth and shehnaaz were left in the hospital room.

Sidharth was staring at shehnaaz with his eyes full of affection. He came near the bed and confessed, "Thank you so much, Shehnaaz . You have made my dream come true. I know you are enduring so much pain and discomfort just to fulfil my longing desire. "

"You have paid a hefty amount to me in return for the job that you have assigned to me. I can go through the pain and bear it all." Shehnaaz smiled at him.

"But still, it's tough for you to become a surrogate at such a young age," Sidharth replied, and smiled back at her.

Shehnaaz was staring at Sidharth . She had her gaze fixed on his face and observed him closely. He looked like a kid when he was smiling. He had a child - like innocence on his face.

Sidharth was elated that he had moved one step closer to having his wish fulfilled. His happiness was obvious, and it seemed as if it was spring and his heart had bloomed with flowers.

For the very first time, shehnaaz had seen him smile. And his smiling face gave her heart a soothing essence. She felt peace within herself and was delighted to see him be his happiest self.

Shehnaaz was lost in her thoughts when Sidharth asked her, "Hey, by the way, how is your Dad? Is he keeping well?" Shehnaaz was surprised. She didn't expect that question to come from Sidharth .

"Yeah, the surgery was successful. And he is now out of danger. All thanks to you, "she replied.

"What I did for you is nothing compared to the favour that you have done for me. Trust me, "Sidharth replied.

Shehnaaz said nothing but just smiled at him.

After a while, a nurse came inside the room and informed Shehnaaz that she could now go home. Shehnaaz attempted to get off the bed, and Sidharth quickly came forward to help her. However, it was not really necessary for him to help Shehnaaz.

She had no major aftermath from the procedure. Shehnaaz felt a little uneasiness, and her body required some time to process it. The feeling was weird enough that Shehnaaz could not explain it.

"Shehnaaz , Are you fine?" Sidharth asked her politely.

"Yeah, I'm good. You need not worry." She replied.

Both Shehnaaz and Sidharth came out of the hospital.

"Okay, Sidharth ... I will take your leave now. I will inform you if... umm... I mean, you know... If" Shehnaaz did not get the appropriate words that would describe what she wanted to say.

She wanted to tell Sidharth that she would inform him if the pregnancy test came out positive.

But Shehnaaz felt embarrassed to let him know the same.

She lowered her gaze and began to think of a way to express herself. She didn't say anything, but Sidharth somehow understood the words beneath her hesitation. He replied, "Okay, umm... I'll wait. You take care for yourself."

Shehnaaz lifted her gaze at him and answered back, "yeah, I will. Okay, bye. "

Sidharth smiled at her, bid her goodbye, and got into his car to drive away. Shehnaaz took the cab and made her way to her hostel.

The upcoming days proved to be quite stressful for Shehnaaz . She was restless all the time, wondering if she was pregnant or not. She had not even worried about the results of her exams the way she was anxious about things now.

However, Dr. Swati had warned her against the anxious thoughts. She had told her that it was not necessary to conceive on the very first attempt. But Shehnaaz couldn't resist thinking and worrying about the pregnancy.
Dr. Swati had concluded that she would conduct the pregnancy test after a month, and it was just a week that had passed.
