Shehnaaz and Sidharth were sitting in Dr. Swati's cabin. Four days had passed since Shehnaaz had signed the contract. Dr.Swati rested both her hands on the table and began to explain the process of surrogacy. Her words were as follows: "Shehnaaz and Sidharth , listen to me carefully. You guys know that this won't be a normal pregnancy. There would be several precautions that you might have to take, especially you, shehnaaz . You need to understand each and every word about this procedure and even learn to read between the lines to better comprehend it."

"I am ready, doctor," Shehnaaz stated.

She uttered those words with sheer confidence, but shehnaaz was fearful of what might happen next. She knew nothing about what she had gotten herself into. Sidharth's face was layered with nervousness, and it could be seen clearly on his face. He did not utter a word but was listening calmly to Shehnaaz and Dr. Swati's discussion.

The doctor gave Shehnaaz a few hormonal injections in addition to the medicines. Shehnaaz had to take the medication for one week. And apart from the medicine, shehnaaz had to abide by the precautions that the doctor had told her to. The list of precautions included avoiding alcohol, smoking, or any other means of intoxication. Shehnaaz was not a big deal as she wasn't habitually drinking and smoking. What had put her in a state of misery was that the doctor had asked her not to have tea or coffee. Shehnaaz was stressed about avoiding tea and coffee. Shehnaaz could not even think of sustaining her day without tea. She was addicted to tea and could have tea at any hour of the day.

Like some people are alcoholics, Shehnaaz was a "Teaholic". Anyway, there was nothing that she could do about it. She would have to give up her habit of having tea anytime and numerous times.

"Shehnaaz , did you understand all the precautions?" Dr. Swati asked her after she had explained all the instructions to her.

"Yes, Dr. I have understood, and will try to stick to them. " Shehnaaz responded.

And one more thing, shehnaaz : the hormones that I have injected into your body might give rise to some complications. You might feel nauseated or experience mood swings. If you feel this way, do not panic. Keep in mind that it's normal. " Shehnaaz nodded her head, but she was scared from within.

The process for today was over and shehnaaz had to continue the medicine provided by the doctor for a week. Shehnaaz and sidharth came out of the fertility clinic. Sidharth was quiet and didn't speak a word after they came out of the clinic. Shehnaaz also didn't try to ask anything or initiate a conversation with him because she was stressed herself.

Sidharth moved towards his car, and shehnaaz walked out of the premises to take the bus to her hostel. Sidharth turned around and glanced at shehnaaz when he saw that she was moving out.

"Shehnaaz...," he called out to her to refrain from moving.

Shehnaaz responded to the voice and turned towards Sidharth, who was standing near his car. Shehnaaz took a few steps and reached Sidharth.

"Yeah, Sidharth... "Tell me..." she asked.

He replied in a lowered voice, "How are you, Shehnaaz ?"

Shehnaaz was surprised to hear that from him. "Yes, I am fine. But what made you ask so? "She replied.

"No... umm... nothing... I casually asked," said Sidharth . It appeared as if he had numerous thoughts going on in his mind, but he could not put them into words. Shehnaaz sort of understood the uneasiness and worry in his eyes and looked straight into his gaze.

"Don't worry, Sidharth . Everything will be fine, "she smiled at Sidharth and assured him.

"Shall I drop you at the hostel?" Sidharth questioned
