AFTER BEING SERVED AT the bar, Eschewal follows Deuce to a corner near the female toilets. Eschewal had not realized why the first time Deuce had led him over to the female toilets when they began raving six months ago, but now it all makes sense.
Eschewal's eyes widen as a stream of girls from outside comes in and make their way over to the toilets. His heart beats a little faster. He can feel his stomach muscles contracting as two stunning girls walk his way. His heart slows down. He had thought that one of them was the girl in the park.
As the girls enter the toilets, another wannabe player tries to pull one of them, but she pulls off his grip and enters the toilets with attitude.
Deuce grins. He knows that wannabe player made a fateful mistake. He feels like giving him this advice,"You need to fall back, player. Never try to pull a female before she can check on herself. You need to relax and wait patiently until she exits, then make your move, gee." Before the two stunners leave the toilets, two other groups of girls enter, all looking so fresh and so clean Deuce's penis rises. He tries to calm himself, but it is no good. He is like a child in a sweetie shop.
The two stunners exit the toilets and walk back towards Eschewal and Deuce with eyes fixed straight ahead. Before the one in front can get to walk past, Deuce grabs down on her arm. She stops and smiles. He pulls her towards him and begins his spiel.
Eschewal looks at the friend. She is almost as pretty as the girl in the park but does not have that special thing. He looks over at Deuce. He knows Deuce needs his help because, at any moment, he feels the friend will feel left out and end up pulling the girl away from Deuce. He takes a deep breath and steps toward the girl. "Hi, what's your name?" he says disinterestedly.
The girl answers with a tone of voice that suggests, don't do me any favors.
Eschewal replies, "Sorry, what did you say your name was?"
She rolls the lie off her tongue again, "Leasha."
"Leasha, yeah? That's a beautiful name," he goes for a handshake and introduces himself.
The girl smiles and gives him eye contact.
He senses the girl might be contemplating giving him a chance. He cannot risk that, so he dives in and says, "Can I get your number?"
The girl looks away from him as she replies, "I don't give out my number."
He bites down on his lip. He pretends to lose his voice for a second; he has read the girl correctly. She is the type of girl who has to be talked to with manners, and if you're asking for her number, you have to do it with much more decorum. He plies on the acting. He wrinkles his forehead and says, "Why?"
With another lie, the girl looks at Eschewal and says, "Because I've got a boyfriend, innit."
He smiles and fires back with a mind game question, "How many boyfriends you got, then?" he says with an unconcerned smile.
The girl replies, with a hint of puzzlement in her voice, "Only one..."
He raises his eyebrows. "Is that all?" Then says, "Is there no room for one more?"
The girl flicks her neck. "Nah, sorry, I'm happy," and as Deuce finishes putting her friend's number in his phone, she grabs her friend's arm and disappears into the crowd.
Deuce turns to Eschewal and says, "What, did you get her number?"
Eschewal shakes his head and says, "Nah, she was going on stush," then smiles slightly, happy he avoided another possible distraction. He closes his eyes for a moment and thinks, how many more girls do I have to blow out before I see the girl in the park again? He shoots his eyes back open as Deuce pokes him in the arm.
Deuce is about to give Eschewal another one of his pep talks on playing the game. He wipes the corner of his mouth. "Listen, bruv," he begins, "for man like you, yeah, you need to tell them, pretty girls, a bling, you get me? You have to become Mister Bling with them. You get me?" He takes a sip of his drink and continues, "Tell them something like you're a promoter and wanna add them to your guest list. Then ring them and give them some other chat, take them out for lunch and talk more shit on a business level, and before you know it, you're in their knickers."
Eschewal rolls his eyes and nods as Deuce continues his pep talk.
