THE NIGHT AIR IS cool, even though it is the start of winter.

The usual busy main road has only a few cars shooting up and down. Eschewal leads Manna towards the street crossing; they cross over to the other side of the road and stroll in the direction of the bus stops.

He calculates how much money he has left; it is enough to drop her home in a cab. The couple approaches the strip of road where the bus stops, cab station, and food outlets are clustered.

Eschewal contemplates what to do, 'Escort her home in a cab then walk back home or simply invite her back to my flat and work from there.'

The pair speak at the same time. Eschewal ends his sentence, "...something to eat?"

"Yeah, I am a bit hungry."

He says to himself, 'Damn, why am I fronting. I don't have enough money to buy food.'

His chest tightens up as if he is being restrained in a straitjacket. His only option is his credit card, which is almost maxed out.

He finally replies, "Okay, let's get something to eat. What do you feel for, pizza?"

"Yeah, I don't mind."

He and Manna head towards the pizza restaurant, but it has already closed. Once again, his chest tightens. He was looking forward to spending more time with Manna. He looks over at the takeaway. He cannot see her coming home with him on the first date to eat a takeaway. However, his heart says something different.

"Would you like to get a takeaway and come back to mine?" he asks, almost holding his breath.

She smiles. "Yeah, why not?"

The tension runs out of his body as his eyes widen, and a huge smile appears. He leads her to the takeaway, then in a cab to his flat.
