WHEN ESCHEWAL PICKED DEUCE up from his house, the sun was still in the sky. The winter sun is on its way down, turning day to dusk as Eschewal drives down a road filled with a hundred shops, selling everything from alcohol to gravestones.
Deuce turns down the volume of the music and grips his phone. "Little bitch, little rarse bitches, little jezzys," he says, then looks over at Eschewal. "I'm telling you, you know, bruv, these girls are fools, you know, they're stupid, blood. You get me? It's a good thing I've got this other link lined up."
Eschewal takes his eyes off the road. "So what, are these other links nice then?"
"Yeah, man," lies Deuce. He purposely chose these girls over the other girls because the other girls were too pretty. He could not risk Eschewal falling in love with one of them and leaving him stranded again without a driver to meet all the other girls he plans to meet without his girlfriend's knowledge. "Yeah, they're kinda nice still," He flicks his nose and switches back to talking about the pretty girls that he is pretending rejected his call. "Yeah, but them other bitches, man." He says, lying about the pretty girls. "They've got me mad. Try lock off their phone on, man — little waste-chicks. I swear I'll give them one box in their face if I ever see them. Yeah, I lick that over, star. Make them know that I'm not a rarse idiot. You get me, though, blood?"
Eschewal nods and keeps on driving. He hopes he will be able to turn this girl into his wife.
