THE TIME IS FIFTEEN minutes to ten. Salacious has been arguing with her boyfriend for the past hour. Her battery has just died, so the argument is cut off, but the fight has not ended. She runs to the charger and plugs in her phone. With tears waiting to burst from her eyes, she waits until her boyfriend answers the phone.

"Yeah, so what are you saying?"

"You know what I'm saying," replies the boyfriend.

Her throat chokes up. "Yeah, but I don't understand why?"

He lowers his tone of voice, "You know why. I need some space. Like the relationship is going too deep too quick."

"What do you mean?" she cries. "We've been seeing each other for over six months. And I haven't even seen you for a month."

"Yeah, I know, but you've heard what I've said."

She sobs.

He overlooks her sobbing, then says, "Listen, I'm going to talk to you, I'm gonna talk to you soon, but I've gotta go. Later." He ends the call hoping he will have her psychologically weak for him.

He is successful. The mind game worked because even though Salacious is a gorgeous girl with a pleasant personality, she has low self-esteem. From a little girl, her mother told her, "Why can't you tidy up your room and keep it clean? You know when you get big, you're never gonna be able to keep a man because no man don't want no nasty girl who can't clean."

These taunts haunted Salacious, and whenever she had a boyfriend, she lived in fear that he would somehow see that untidy little girl in her.

She sits on the edge of her bed, holding her phone, as she continues to sob. She opens her phone to call back her boyfriend; when the phone rings, an unknown number flashes up. She wipes away the tears and answers, "Yeah, hello?"

"Yeah, hello, is this Salacious?"

"Yeah, who is this?"

"Ricky," lies Deuce. He continues, "Um, yeah, one of the dudes that dropped you off earlier."

Salacious' boyfriend's psychological hold momentarily falls away. She jumps into her sexy character voice, "Hi, what's up, babes? I didn't think you were gonna call."

"Course I was gonna call," replies Deuce. "So what you saying? Are you going to link, man?"

"Um... yeah, um, come and pick me up in about half an hour." She ends the call. She throws down her phone on the bed and runs to the bathroom to freshen up.
