ALENA JUMPS TO HER phone. She sees Deuce's number and laughs. She had forgotten about Deuce as she and Venisha get ready to go to a wine bar. She grips the phone and looks over at Venisha. "It's that fool. What do you think I should tell him now?"

Venisha shrugs.

Alena grits her teeth.

The phone stops ringing.

For a moment, Alena feels relieved until, seconds later, the phone rings again.

Her eyes widen as she is hit with an idea of what to tell Deuce.

She answers the phone. "Hi, babes, sorry about that. I was on my house phone." She bites her lip and paces the floor.

"Yeah," says Deuce, "so what's going on?"

"Agggh, you know what," she begins while taking a breath, "the person who was meant to drop me to you can't do it again."

Deuce curls his top lip. "So, you weren't gonna call me and tell me this?"

She begins to say something. Deuce talks over her, "Yeah, man, I've been waiting out here like a fool."

"I'm sorry, babes, it's not my fault, and plus, I was trying to get another ride. That's why I haven't called you yet."

"Yeah," he scratches the side of his mouth, "did you get one?"

She looks over at Venisha and sticks out her tongue. "No, I couldn't get one."

He almost huffs and puffs. "So, what are you gonna do then?"

"I don't know, like, why don't you come to my house."

He flicks his nose. "Alright, where do you live?"

She widens her mouth and eyes as she gives directions to him. "Well, you see the road you're on, yeah, well drive down it and once you have passed the fourth traffic lights, turn right and drive all the way down that road, yeah. Turn left, then the second right, and then you will see a tall block of flats called Shoot House. I live at number 18."

He grins. "Alright, I'll be there in a hot minute."
