Miles made sure he grabbed his recom breather before continuing the rest of his way with the general. With the door automatically opening and now closing behind them, Frances Ardmore sat down at her desk picking up her mug that had hot black coffee in it. The woman takes a sip from it before carefully placing it back down on the side of her desk. "Colonel, I would like to know how the progress of the mission is going. Other than that boy and his so called 'mother' teaching you all Na'vi, do we have anything regarding Jake?"

Miles took a breather of his mask and removes it from his face before responding honestly. "No, no progress has been made yet, General" he grits his teeth. He knew this conversation was gonna come around.

"I thought so. Since there has been no progress, we don't need them anymore. I'll have them executed in a few hours, starting with that savage" She picks up her mug again to drink.

Did I hear that right? Was she really going to get rid of them like that? She wants to not only kill Sok but Spider too?

Standing up straight, Miles spoke up "With all due respect General, I reject that action to being made. You may not need them but I do. There's still hope that they will lead us to Sully. Spider and Sok are starting to gain my teammates trust and my trust as well. I can tell you this now that Jake and his crazy bitch isn't coming for them"

After taking a drink, Frances sets her mug down again and leans back in her chair "Colonel, are you implying that they will tell you where they are after gaining your trust? Is that the big idea?"

"Yes ma'am"

I'm hoping for it to go that way if it means Sok and Spider can live.

Frances looks at the recom for a few seconds before staring down at her watch. It's only been a week since they had their prisoners. She didn't like the idea of keeping the two alive after not being much helpful as they seem to be. She expected much more from Quaritch. Suddenly, she had a new plan in mind. The mission will still be ongoing but she will keep Spider and Sok alive just a bit longer. Not because Miles rejected the execution but something else that's not to be revealed yet. Not even to Miles.

"I don't agree with this at all" She stands up from her chair walking over to him. Miles looks at her with a pale expression which was exactly the reaction the general wanted from him.

"So Colonel, here's what we're going to do. I'll hold back on their execution for now. And I'm going to remind you that I'm holding you responsible for them. Not only you but your whole team will be at risk for whatever actions those two make. If there is no progress on the mission, I will kill them. Do you understand?" She asked stepping closer to get a better look at his expression. He may be taller than her but she wasn't scared of him or any of the Recoms. They indeed are just a made creation and Frances will use that to her advantage.

It was taking a lot for Miles not to pick her up and strangle her until blood peaks out from her eyes. He only nods in response before saluting again "Yes ma'am, understood" he says as he reached back for his mask again.

"Good. Before you go..." Frances turns her back and walks towards her desk again before facing him. "Can I ask you a question? Two actually"

"Go on"

And make it quick.

"Who is that kid to you?"

Why is she asking this? Does it matter to her? We both know I ain't actually his daddy.

"Sir?"

"He's nothing to me, General. It's been clear he's not my son" Miles gave a reply.

"I'm glad you accepted that"
