Chapter 39

"You don't need to keep me trapped in here Eun-Ji." Eun-ji rolled her eyes at him. She didn't care if he started to heal, she needed to take care of him.

"I think you need to stay here and rest." Selene said, her cute Korean accent making Erick smile.

"Thank you! At least someone is on my side." Both females had not left his side. Selene had rushed over to the Alphas house when told of how four wolfs gained up on her mate. Her blood was boiling and if she did see them, she wasn't going to hold back.

Eun-ji looked over at Erick reaching out to take Selene's hand, a smile spreading to her face. Things felt different to her some how. Her chest didn't hurt as much watching them exchange glances at each other.

"If I do see them I won't be responsible for what happens. Like what is their deal with Erick? Are they jealous or something?"

Jealous? The word took Eun-ji by surprise.

"I understand you guys were together, but I'm his mate and we are together. I would put my hands in the fire and say Erick would never cheat on me."

Eun-ji agreed. Erick was just that kind of guy. When he fell in love, he was all in.

"And why are they so overprotective of you? Do they all like you?"

"Like me!? Why would you even suggest that!"

"I mean they all came back for your 18th birthday. Maybe they hoped to be your mate." Selene shrugged her shoulders like she wasn't implying anything out of the ordinary.

"What the hell is wrong with you! They are my brothers."

"From what I know you only hanged out with Jungkook the most. The older ones weren't even around. I don't think you had enough time to bond with any of them as brothers. Maybe it's the fact you see them as brothers whats blocking what's in front of you."

Wait what?

"Don't look so confused. I think those guys see you a little bit more than the little girl they used to see running around as kids. It only makes sense for them to be so overprotective of you."

"No those are my brothers! How can you say that!"

"Eun-ji I know you see them as your brothers but it wouldn't hurt to see them as men. I'm 100% sure they drool for you. To be honest, if I wasn't sure of the kind of relationship you two have and I've seen you two messing around with each other, I probably would have reacted the same way. Because that's my mate. What if one of them is yours?"

Eun-ji was too stunned to speak and defend herself.

"That can't be possible.. they are my brothers."

Selene laughed, "fine if you see them as your brothers but I don't thinks it's going to be for long. The only explanation as to why they attacked Erick would be jealousy. And only mates get jealous enough to kill. I promise you, I know."

"Babe, can you leave me and Eun-ji alone? I think if I talk to her about it I can make her understand."

Selene narrowed her eyes at him. "So you want me to leave you alone, again, with your ex-girlfriend?" Selene saw how both of them became awkward with each other.

"Please?"

"Ahhh! Fine! But I want a date after you are healed." Erick reached over, pulling her on his lap. He gently took her face in his hands and placed a tender kiss on her forehead. Selene's cheeks turned a noticeable pink.

Eun-ji watched the scene unfold, finding it sweet and gentle. Not a trace of longing felt in her heart.

Something was different. Good different. Just last night she had wished for Erick to be hers, but watching the sincerity of Erick's actions brought her happiness.
