That day. That day a variety of things about the crown of Auradon came to light. The worst of them was that the men who attended the royalty were capable of doing anything for the love of power, including bribing the head of the guard to get the security tape that incriminated the prince.

It wasn't long before at a weekly meeting for the maintenance of the reconstruction plan the video appeared. Adam went pale when he saw the video again being replayed, but now in front of all the ministers. There was no need for anyone to say anything, because it was clear what was going through those people's minds "The prince is to blame." The king rushed to change the thinking of everyone in the room, tried to show that Mal was to blame for everything, she was the villain and her son was only manipulated by her.

Never in Adam and Belle's entire lives had they been so nervous about something. Sitting in the waiting room of the town hall, they waited for the final verdict of three councilors and the supreme judge. So many hours waited to have to hear the following words:

"The girl is guilty of destroying the kingdom. However, the greater punishment already rests upon her, since she lives on the Isle of the Lost. After an extensive conversation between myself and the advisors, we have arrived at a suitable punishment for Prince Benjamin for being complicit in the latest events in Auradon."

While all this was going on Ben was in the library at home wandering in his own thoughts. He wanted to be with Mal now, he wanted to be in on the conversations about the kingdom, he especially wanted to not feel so inert about everything.

"And then..."

Doug caught her attention. This was the only friend who came to see him in the castle. All the others, Audrey, Chad and Lonnie were living in their respective provinces.

"What?"

"It's just that you haven't said anything yet."

"About what?"

"You disappeared during the whole mess here in Auradon, reappeared with Mal, and then disappeared again."

"Oh, that. You know everything we thought about magic?" Doug nodded about their negative opinion about magic. "Yeah, we were wrong."

"How? What? And what does Mal have to do with magic?"

"She is the reason for all this Doug."

He laughed thinking about her and leaving his friend lost in his vague explanation. Mal was the exact reason for everything in him.
