It was never easy living on the Isle. It had bad days and not so bad days. The great truth is that one survives on the Isle of the Lost, and most of the current residents had not yet become accustomed to this truth.

The few who stayed and didn't flee when they had the chance had nothing to complain about, because life went on as normal. However, those who had lived for six months still had a lot to learn. For the last twenty years most of these people literally lived "happily ever after" starving, getting sick, and not having a place to sleep became part of their lives.

The houses were well distributed as far as possible, since Auradon had far more people than the Isle of the Lost had before, and food, well, it had always been lacking, it would not be now that there would be abundance. As much as possible those Auradonians were struggling to live. Fairy Godmother and other magical creatures struggled to see if there were any breaches in the barrier, but if they couldn't find one until now, they were unlikely to find one now.

The Isle of the Lost never allowed happiness and it was obvious that it was hard to be happy, but, two people were living the best days of their lives. For six months Mal and Ben had been living sunny days, even if technically the sun didn't go over the barrier. It was funny to think that the prince who lived in the most important family of Auradon and was surrounded by all the comforts that royalty could offer discovered happiness away from his castle.

Benjamin grew up with a lot of luxury and never complained about having a huge bed, a comfortable mattress, sheets and blankets from Agrabah, but now it was sleeping on two pieces of wood and a thin mattress that his sleep came peacefully. The Isle was never the place he thought he would live his fairy tale, but it didn't matter when Mal embraced him six months ago.

Mal was introducing his new home to Ben when he found out that his mother was the new queen of Auradon.

It was too fast, the barrier opened, those with magic were the first to go and the rest were thrown into the sea, it must have been better to drown than to miss this opportunity. Happy were the witches who kept their flying brooms. In the midst of lamenting those who did not escape, the purple haired girl also saw people literally appear in front of her and from the clothes she knew they were from Auradon, she ran to talk to Ben, but his reaction surprised her, since he asked them to hide for a while and if only they would stay unnoticed for a few more days, because those citizens did not receive their help with much joy and until today their coexistence was null, because in fact they hated her and Benjamin.

Mal did not go to Auradon. Maleficent, unlike many villains, wanted her daughter to rule by her side, Mal was supposed to continue her legacy and so it was important to have her by her side, but the one who didn't want this was the girl herself. The weeks she lived in Auradon with Rashid and others showed her that she meant no harm to anyone and that love was one of the most beautiful gifts there was and her mother was not a fan of that thought. She had been looking for months for her daughter, but could not find her, since she did not imagine that the girl would want to stay on the island. Although it was hard to live in hiding, it was better this way, at least she was with the ones she loved.

"Good morning couple." Carlos greeted the smiling couple. "Have you had breakfast?"

"Good morning."

Jay appeared coming in through the window

"I brought our breakfast."

Evie said smiling.

Unwilling and unable to continue living in the old house Mal and the others went to live in their hideout. Maleficent didn't know that place and no one hardly ever went in there for fear of the building collapsing.
