Mal slept the best of her sleep, as did her friends, but inevitably the bright sun reminded her that she was still in Auradon. The girl's angry grunt woke the beautiful blue princess.

"Good morning."

The happy girl wished, yawning a little.

"Good morning."

Mal said, covering her face with her pillow.

"Do you always wake up so moody?"

Evie questioned.

"This sun here...I hate it."

"But, at least it's not as cold as it is on the Isle."

On that point Mal had to agree with her, the thick Auradonian blankets didn't allow even the slightest wind to blow through, unlike where she came from. There wasn't a day on the island that someone didn't freeze to death, literally.

"Good morning, ladies." Jay appeared to them. "Ben called us in for coffee. Are you coming?"

(...)

They were not used to such abundance at a table, Jay could tell for himself that his father had never been an excellent cook and not in all his dreams had he imagined that table.

"What will you have? I can serve you."

Ben asked in connection with the majestic breakfast feast. One of the ways to perhaps reward the initial damage he had created

"This all...everything...wow!"

Carlos was open-mouthed.

"Is all this just for you?"

Mal asked looking at the prince.

"It's not for me, it's for all of us, if you think it's too little I..."

"Are you kidding? This feeds my whole family."

Jay joked as he remembered his aunt and cousins.

(...)

During the whole breakfast Ben just watched them. They looked like animals eating, as if they were afraid, they would never see any food again. Listening to the conversation he realized that they had never eaten anything that was on the table, even though it was typical breakfast foods and Ben could tell for sure, that he made an effort for Mrs. Potts not to make too many French foods.

"Do you guys go to school on the Island, too?"

The prince wanted to know, since, he knew there was a school on the Island, now whether they went was another conversation.

"Once in a while." Mal commented being the only one not with something in her mouth, "In the classes that are nice."

"Well, I always go, it's better there than staying a whole day with my mom."

Carlos said.

"And what would be the nice classes for you, Mal?"

The prince asked, looking at the girl across the table, who was fascinated with all the different kinds of bread on the table.

"Applied Evil is cool."

"You're kidding right?" Been desperately wanted some of them to laugh. "Is that really a class?"

"What? You thought we were learning about the various ways of governing?" Mal said accompanied by the laughter of everyone except Ben. "Really? You take a class on that?"

"I'm going to be king, I need that."

"We are our parents' children, we need that too."

Mal warned.
