The Kids from the Isle of the Lost slept peacefully, despite being in an unknown place. Mal could say that she had slept better than in her bed in the castle with Maleficent, because, thanks to those terrible nightmares she had, she had created a great fear of falling asleep, but today she was able to sleep well. She only woke up because she felt something burning her skin, and when she opened her eyes, she realized that it was the sun coming through the window, entering the house, and hitting her arm.
The isle didn't allow that much sunlight, in fact, she only knew that the sun existed from what she had vaguely studied in Dragon Hall.
As it seemed only, she was still sleeping, Evie was talking to Carlos and the people of Auradon, who Mal honestly couldn't remember the name of, and Jay...where was Jay?
"Where's Jay?"
She asked giving the people inside the house a fright.
"He's outside."
Not wanting to say much with anyone, Maleficent's daughter just got up and went after her friend.
"Good morning to you too."
Evie shouted, watching her walk through the door with a frown on her face.
"Are you all friends?"
Lonnie asked after the girl left.
"Sort of. Jay and Mal have known each other longer, but I don't know if they consider themselves friends."
Carlos answered the question
"Why? Are they dates?"
"No, they're more like business partners."
"And where's Ben?"
Carlos asked
"He had an appointment early this morning."
"Does he live near here?"
"Sort of. You guys must be hungry, let's stop somewhere before we go."
Lonnie quickly changed the subject.

As soon as Mal opened the door, the fright was even greater. Nothing she saw was even close to home. There were several houses, but none were crumbling, there was something on the ground that was green and everywhere and that bright sun.
"Pretty different huh?"
Jay watched his friend come out of the house and make the same face as he did when he saw all that scenery.
"This is my worst nightmare. She went over to him who seemed to be in a shade, away from the sun. "What are you eating?"
"I don't know the name; I saw it on that tree and picked it up."
He told her, while licking himself a big piece of mango.
"Without telling the owner?"
She asked laughing, she knew her friend well enough to know that wasn't a big deal to him.
"I didn't see any notice that it had an owner."
"And even if it did."
"I'd take it for myself anyway, Want one?"
"No thanks, I don't trust anything in this place. Why does it have to be so strong?"
She complained about the sun.
"It's not that strong, you'll see when it gets to summer." Someone said and when Mal and Jay looked back, they saw Lonnie, who was quickly embarrassed by the way they were looking at her. "Sorry, I didn't mean to." She felt embarrassed with them staring at her in a creepy way. "Okay, Ben had a commitment and I'm going to take you to the doctor who is going to see Evie."
