y/n tried her best to maintain a distance from hyein ever since she overheard the conversation. she didn't know what to do with the confession and couldn't face hyein at all.
hyein had been avoiding y/n as well, embarrassed that y/n had heard it all. she was so embarrassed she wanted to hide.
hyunseo was teasing her about it in the hallway when they bumped into someone and caused her to drop her books.
hyein and hyunseo apologised but hyein's eyes widened at the sight if y/n. y/n kept a straight face and walked away m, as if nothing happened.
hyein was confused. was y/n avoiding her because she was uncomfortable? or was y/n ignoring her because she doesn't like her?
of course, she knew they hated each other. but what if y/n has a teeny weeny bit of feelings for her.
she wouldn't mind.
"just talk to her, you idiot!" hyunseo said as she noticed hyein spacing out and staring at y/n walking away.
hyein was snapped out of her thoughts. she turned to face hyunseo. "how could I? it is so humiliating."
"just talk... explain... she might even like you back."
"but we hate each other."
"you ssy you hate her but you secretly loooove her," hyunseo answered.
hyein thought for a while. hyunseo was right. although chances were slim, there was still hope that y/n would accept her confession.
hyein took a deep breath and decided to talk to y/n. she walked up to her during lunch break and asked if they could talk in private. y/n hesitated for a moment but then agreed.
they found a quiet spot outside the school building and sat down. hyein took a deep breath and looked y/n in the eyes. "y/n, I need to talk to you about something important."
y/n nodded, waiting for her to continue.
"I know you heard what I said to hyunseo the other day. and I'm sorry if it made you uncomfortable. but I just wanted to be honest with you," hyein said, her voice shaking slightly.
y/n looked at her with a blank expression, not sure what to say.
"I know we have a complicated history, and we've always had this rivalry between us. but I can't help the way I feel. I think I might have feelings for you," hyein continued, her cheeks turning red.
y/n was taken aback by the confession. she didn't know how to react. but as she looked at hyein, she saw the vulnerability and sincerity in her eyes.
"I... I don't know what to say," y/n finally spoke up. "I never thought of you that way, hyein. but... I don't really hate you. and maybe... maybe there's a chance for us?"
hyein's eyes lit up with hope. "really?"
y/n nodded, a small smile forming on her face. "I think we should take it slow and see where this goes."
hyein let out a small laugh, feeling a weight lifted off her shoulders. "thank you, y/n. I won't let you down."
