y/n was having a bad day. she fought with her girlfriend, hyein.
when she was in school, she noticed hyein and her friend, danielle, kissing each other's cheeks.
y/n didn't like that. she pulled hyein aside and asked her about it.
"why were you and danielle kissing each other's cheeks?"
"we are just friends, if that is your concern."
"friends need to set boundaries! we're dating each other. you're not dating her."
"it was just a friendly kiss on the cheek. it wasn't even on the lips!"
"well, I still don't like it. can you please not do it again?" y/n asked, feeling insecure and jealous.
hyein sighed. "you need yo understand that she is just a friend. it's not like we were making out."
they glared at each other before leaving.
for the next week, y/n and hyein didn't talk much. they would exchange polite greetings in class, but that was about it. y/n missed her girlfriend, but she didn't want to be the first to apologize.
the school announced that there would be a field trip the following week, and the students were to be assigned roommates. y/n was nervous about who she would be paired with.
when the day of the trip arrived, y/n nervously scanned the list of room assignments. her heart sank when she saw that she was paired with hyein.
she didn't know how she was going to survive a week with her girlfriend in such close proximity, especially after their fight.
when they got to their hotel room, y/n unpacked her things silently. hyein did the same.
the silence between them was thick and uncomfortable.
"you can sleep on the couch," y/n said to hyein.
"I would do anything for you but sleep on this couch? no. there is literally a bed."
"I don't care, just take that."
"look, I'm sorry if you got jealous but she is just a friend!"
"whatever."

nighttime came and y/n being the nice one, let hyein wash up first.
when y/n got out after washing up, hyein was already in bed, using her phone.
y/n got in bed too and placed the extra pillow in between them.
"stay on your side."
hyein rolled her eyes and nodded at y/n.
they turned the lights off and went to sleep. y/n fell asleep almost immediately.

in the middle of the night, y/n woke up blearily, feeling arms wrap around her waist and breathing on her neck.
she glanced behind her and saw hyein sleeping, the pillow thrown on the floor.
y/n melted into hyein's hug, and snuggled closer to her.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you," hyein mumbled as she hugged y/n tighter.
y/n smiled and kissed hyein's forehead gently before cuddling with her and falling asleep again.
