After the firefighters get the person onto solid ground, the three paramedics get to work. The person is unconscious, but still has a heartbeat and is breathing. They get the person onto the stretcher and wheel it towards the ambulance. The person wakes up and begins to freak out. TK tries to calm her down, but he gets pushed away. He falls to the ground, reaching his arms out to catch himself. As his body meets the ground, he lets out a groan of pain.

"TK!" Nancy exclaims as she rushes over, Tommy managing to calm their patient down.

"Yeah," TK begins to get up, crying out as he puts weight on his right hand, "I think I'll be okay."

TK, with the help of Nancy, is helped into the front seat of the ambulance. She climbs into the back with the patient while Tommy gets in the driver's seat. The ride to the hospital is quick, Tommy parking by glass sliding doors.

"What do we got?"

"Young female, about 22 in age," Tommy begins explaining the injuries, "I also need my paramedic's wrist to get looked at."

"Cap, I'm fine," TK tries, getting a stern look from his boss.

"You're getting it looked at," Tommy says, not allowing room for argument.

"Okay, we can get you seen very soon. There isn't a long line waiting for radiology," the doctor says with a smile.

Carlos has just finished cleaning the kitchen when his phone rings. He walks over to it and looks at the caller ID, his heart skipping a beat as he reads the name.

Nancy

He answers the call and holds it to his ear, "hey, Nancy. What's up?"

"Hey, Carlos," Nancy says nervously, "I kinda need you to pick TK up from the hospital. You drove him to work today."

"Wh-why is he at the hospital!?" Carlos exclaims.

Carlos walks into the emergency room, being directed to TK's bed by a nurse. He walks over to see his husband sitting on the bed with his wrist in a splint.

"What happened?" Carlos asks, causing TK to look up from his phone.

"I fell," TK says, "but I'm okay. It's just a fractured wrist."

Carlos sighs, thankful it isn't worse, "you have to stop doing this. I can't handle it." Carlos hugs TK tightly, letting all of his fears wash away from before.

"Babe, I'm okay."

Carlos pulls away, tears in his eyes, "I hate this place. I hate that when Nancy calls me, I feel like my heart has been ripped out of my chest. When you got shot, I heard it. I was standing there, waiting to rush in, when you were wheeled out on a bed. When you were held hostage, I was terrified I'd never see you again. I still can't get the image of that bandage on your head out of my mind. When you were in a coma," he takes a deep breath, "I was petrified. When you woke up, I was scared that if I allowed myself to breathe, the dream would end and you'd still be in the coma."

"Okay, okay, breathe," TK says as he cups Carlos' face with his uninjured hand, "I'm here. I'll be more careful at work, okay? I'll even ask Nancy to make sure I do."

Carlos smiles thankfully and kisses TK passionately. Within the next hour, TK is discharged and Carlos is driving to the fire house. The two walk in, Owen sighing as he sees his son's wrist. TK grabs his things from the locker room and the two walk to the kitchen. They spend the next hour with the 126, waiting as they went on a call. There's a part of Carlos that wishes TK would have a safer job, but he'd never ask him to quit. He sees how TK smiles brightly when he sees the team-his family. He would never, ever, ask TK to leave them. So he deals with his anxiety.
