•Title: "Everything is ruined"

•Requester: DarrianMarks

•Warnings: autism

•Inspiration: my life I guess.

•Type: angsty

A/N: Hey, so something y'all might not know about me is that I have autism. I'm not officially diagnosed (I have my reasons). I will base this off of my experiences. Autism is a spectrum, so not every person with autism is going to act the same. For example, my sister loves lots of noise whereas I had to cover my ears today to keep from screaming. And yes, I've thought about noise canceling headphones but when my family thinks of autism, they don't think spectrum.

Tommy opens his eyes slowly, He turns his head to the left to see Buck awake, scrolling on his phone, "good morning, handsome," Tommy speaks, his voice raspy.

"God, I love your morning voice," Buck says before leaning over to place a kiss on Tommy's lips, "how'd you sleep?"

"I always sleep great when I'm in the bed with you," Tommy responds.

"Well, maybe we should make that a more permanent arrangement," Buck suggests softly, Tommy sitting up straight in response.

"No, we move in at eighteen months," he says quickly.

"Tommy, hey," Buck says, placing his hand on Buck's shoulder, "then, we wait. I know your plan is eighteen months, okay? Just five more months to go."

Tommy nods slowly, trying to hide the breath of relief he lets out, "sorry, I know I'm crazy."

"Hey," Buck moves his hand from Tommy's shoulder to his cheek, "you're not crazy, Tommy. You have a plan for how things should go. I will do my best to make sure that plan works."

Tommy smiles softly, "so, movie day?"

"Absolutely," Buck says, kissing Tommy before getting out of bed, "you grab the pillows, I'll make the popcorn."

Buck and Tommy are sitting on Buck's couch-that Tommy helped him pick out after Kamryn got... stuff on his old one. Buck's arm is around Tommy as Tommy lays his head on Buck's shoulder. They are watching the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Right as Hermione and Harry are in the woods, Buck's phone rings, causing Tommy to jump.

"I have to take this," Buck says as he stands up, pausing the movie as he walks up to his room, "this is Buckley."

"Hey, buck."

"Hey, Cap, what's up?"

"I know it's your day off, but you're the only one who can come in on short notice," Bobby says softly.

"What's going on, Cap?"

"Well, as you know, I'm the captain for B shift this week," Bobby says softly, "well, Maclaud got hurt. I need someone to fill in for him."

"Bobby, I'm with Tommy," buck says, knowing that Bobby is aware of Tommy's dependence of plans.

"Buck, I know, but everyone else can't. Why doesn't Tommy come to the fire house?"

"Because he's not my kid, Bobby. He's my boyfriend and he doesn't need to be babysat," Buck responds, his tone becoming harsh.

"Hey, I know. I was just trying to offer up a solution to the situation."

"Bobby, what about Chim?"

"Zoo with Jee and Mara."

"Eddie?"

"Carla can't come in."

"Hen?"

"Zoo."

"Ravi?" Buck's desperate, now.

"Buck."

"Fine. I'll be there as soon as I can," Buck says, not even bothering to say goodbye before hanging up.

He turns to go downstairs, jumping when he sees Tommy standing there, "you're leaving."

Buck sighs, his heart breaking at the look of turmoil on Tommy's face, "I know, this sucks. I'm sorry."

"Buck, it's fine."

"Tom-."

"It's fine. I'll see you after, okay? Be safe. Love you."

"Love you," Buck watches as Tommy leaves the loft. Soon after, he leaves his loft with a sigh.

"Thanks for coming in, Buck," Bobby says as Buck reaches the kitchen.

"Yeah," Buck says with a shrug of his shoulders.

"Buck, come on," Bobby says softly.

"Bobby, he called me Buck."

"Oh," Bobby's face falls.

"Yeah, he had the day planned as a movie day. We set it up a week ago once we realized we both had the day off. But, guess where I am?"

"Buck, we couldn't be a man-."

"I know, Bobby, but why did it have to be me? Is it because I don't have a kid? Seriously? Is my time not valuable enough?"

"Buck."

"Bobby, you don't get it. He had today in his mind as a movie day with me and now it's not. He hates surprises. Especially if they mess with his plan. But, my life be damned. I'm here. Just don't expect me to be all happy-go-lucky."

Without saying another word, Buck goes into the bunk room and pulls out his phone, quickly video calling Tommy.

"Hey," Tommy says monotonously.

"Hey, I'm really sorry our movie day got interrupted," Buck says softly.

"It's fine,"

"No, it's not, Tommy. I was really looking forward to doing nothing but watch movies with you."

"I'll be okay," Tommy says, "me being upset is stupid. It's life."

"No, don't you dare invalidate your feelings. If you're upset, be upset. I'm upset, too. Our plans were wrecked," Buck responds before the tones go off, "I gotta go. I love you."

"I love you. Be safe, Ev."

If Buck is smiling like a fool after the call because Tommy is back to calling him his name, nobody comments. Buck's not even mad anymore. In this moment, Evan Buckley just feels incredibly Lucky to be dating Tommy Kinard.

A/N: Okay, there ya go. Writing autism is hard for me because I only know my experiences and we just decided to acknowledge that I have it the last few years, so it's not like I have a lifetime of experiences. Also am I the only one that thinks it's funny the time I write about autism is when I realize I hyper fixated on Buck and Tommy?
