_____ _____ _____

Evan Buckley has had his world turned upside down on numerous occasions in his life. When he first realized how to get his parent's attention, that completely altered his behavior. This kind of thing continued for the rest of his life so far. When Maddie returned to him after years, Buck finally found the courage to officially cut ties with his toxic girlfriend. When the firetruck landed on him after the bomb went boom, his life changed the most it ever has. This was when he-temporarily and kind of ironically-lost his found family.

So, yeah, Evan Buckley has had his world turned upside down quite often. That's why Eddie isn't exactly surprised when it happens again. He is, however, surprised at what causes it.

Eddie and Christopher are playing video games when there's a knock at the door. Eddie walks out of the room and opens the door. Standing there is a clearly distressed looking Buck.

"Hey, what's going on?" Eddie asks, this not being a planned 'date night'.

"I just didn't want to be alone," Buck responds in a voice that Eddie can only describe as broken.

"Okay, come on in, then," Eddie says, stepping aside.

As Buck walks into the home, light falling on him completely, Eddie can see the residue of tears on his face. Eddie lets out a quiet sigh as he grasps Buck's hand in his own. Buck looks at him and offers a small smile, Eddie's heart clenching when it doesn't reach his eyes. Eddie leads Buck to the kitchen and has him sit in a chair. Eddie then walks over to Christopher.

"Dad," Christopher starts as he glances over to Buck, "is Bucky okay? He looks sad."

"Yeah, bud, Bucky's okay. Could you go get into your pajamas and brush your teeth for bed, though?"

"Okay," Christopher says before he walks towards his bedroom.

Once the child is out of sight, Eddie returns to his boyfriend. He grabs Buck's hand again and leads him into his bedroom, sitting him on the bed.

"Okay, what's going on?" Eddie asks softly as he sits next to Buck.

"You know how I always felt like my family had this secret that they were keeping from me?" Buck starts.

"Yeah, why?"

"I was right," Buck lets out a sigh, "I have a brother. Well, I had a brother, I guess. His name was Daniel, and he died when he was really young. When he was little, he got sick. Like, really sick. So, my parents knew there was only one way to save him. If they had another baby, that baby could donate to him. So, they had me."

"Oh," Eddie says in shock, "wow, okay. How did you find this out?"

"Maddie told me. I found a picture of a little boy and thought it was me. Turns out it was actually Daniel."

"Buck,-."

"All my life I felt that they didn't want me. They never really paid any attention to me. I was right all of this time, Eddie," Buck lets the tears flow once again.
