A/N: Hero Eddie? Yes please. Okay, so in this, Christopher isn't in Texas. He also won't be in this but I just hate to write Eddie in a relationship if his son is across the country. Also, I don't actually think Tommy is the cause of Buck's bruise in the promo picture. Hope you enjoy!
_____ _____ _____
Buck walks into the firehouse and makes a bee line for the locker room. He opens his locker and takes his uniform out of his duffel before putting the bag into his locker and shutting the metal door. Out of his normal routine, Buck takes his uniform and walks into the adjoining bathroom to change.
He locks the door and slowly peels his shirt off, wincing as he raises his arms above his head. He walks to the mirror that is over the sink and sees a dark purple bruise forming over his ribs stretching around to his back. With a sigh, Buck pulls his dark blue long sleeve uniform shirt on. Once he is positive that no bruises are visible, he flushes the toilet and leaves the bathroom. He deposits his street clothes into his locker and once again shuts the door.
Buck leaves the locker room and walks up the stairs to where everyone else is. Bobby, as usual, is at the stove. Hen is sitting on the couch reading while Chimney is looking at brochures of vacation spots. Eddie is sitting at the table filling out forms for Christopher's upcoming school trip.
"Hey, Buck," Bobby says with his usual welcoming smile.
"Hey, you just get here?" Eddie questions.
"No, I got here about ten minutes ago. I was getting dressed," Buck responds.
"Really? I was just in the locker room and you weren't there," Eddie says skeptically as he crosses his arms and raises an eyebrow.
"I changed in the bathroom," Buck says as if it's obvious.
"Why? You're not ashamed of your body. You take your shirt off in front of us all of the time," Chimney says, now getting involved in the conversation.
"Geez, is it so weird that I changed in the bathroom? I had to pee, so I just got dressed in there. Am I free to go, officers?" Buck says before storming off.
"Well, that wasn't very Buck of him," Hen says as she puts her book down.
"Well, we did hassle him," Eddie says guiltily.
"Still, it's not like Buck to snap like that," Bobby says, glancing in the direction that Buck went.
"So are we all in agreement that something's up with him?" Eddie questions.
"Yeah, but it's not like we can force him to tell us," Hen says.
Eddie sighs and stands up, "great."
+ + + + +
Buck walks out of the bathroom, now in his street clothes and goes to his locker, gathering his things into his bag.
"Hey, we're headed out for a few drinks, want to join?" Chimney asks.
"I'm actually meeting up with Tommy," Buck says.
"Well, why don't you have him meet us for a few, then you two can head to your date night?"
"Yeah, sure. I'll have him meet us."
The 118 heads to their usual spot and get a table, quickly ordering a beer each, Bobby getting a soda. Buck is sitting next to Eddie, squished close to him to look at recent pictures of Christopher.
