When it comes to Buck's diagnosis, nobody just assumes his state. When he does something 'odd', they don't immediately think he's manic. To be fair, most things that Buck does can be considered odd. So, when Eddie wakes up over a year into the relationship to find Buck making eggs, he isn't concerned at all. He is, however, curious as to why there is a lot of food already. Pancakes, French toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, and more lay on various trays throughout Eddie and Buck's shared kitchen. Chris comes into the room moments after his father. While he might want a reason, the young boy is just excited by all of the food. Once the three have eaten enough food to fill them up, Eddie and Chris go to get dressed-Eddie for work and Chris for school. Buck, already dressed, puts the food into Tupperware containers. He puts the containers into a bag that is lined with a material to keep it warm. He zips the bag and places it by the door, waiting for his boyfriend and son.

Buck walks into the station happily. In fact, there is a bounce in his step. Eddie watches with a smile on his own face, happy to see Buck so gleeful. Buck places the bag on the counter and empties it-one container at a time-onto the table. As the others walk in, they are pleasantly surprised.

"What's all this?" Bobby asks with a smile.

"Buck made us breakfast," Eddie says simply.

Now, they wouldn't just assume that Buck is manic from this, but Eddie and Bobby are concerned. Their shared look shows that the other is just as worried. They know that saying something might upset Buck, so they sit at the table. Eddie and Buck don't eat, but Eddie sits nonetheless. Buck, however, decides to go to the punching bag.

Just as everyone is finishing their breakfasts, the bell goes off and the 118 go to work.

Their shift is nearly over. The 118 are working with the 136 to put out a house fire. Buck and Eddie are with two other firefighters searching for the last person in the house. As they enter a room that has flames throughout it, Buck spots the woman standing in the middle, panicking. Buck walks into the room but has to stop at a line of fire separating him from the woman. He backs up and gets a running start to jump over the line of fire. He ignores Eddie screaming his name. Once he is next to the woman, he takes his mask and helmet off. He places them on the woman's head and then takes off his jacket. He slips it onto her arms and picks her up. He jumps over the line again, walking past the other three.

"Do you two got this?" Eddie asks the two other firefighters.

"Yeah, go help him get her out," one of them says before they begin to fight the fire in the room.

Eddie runs from them, catching up with Buck as he reaches the fresh air. Hen meets Buck and helps the woman over to the ambulance, Chim pulling Buck to get looked at. Eddie takes his helmet and mask off as he walks over to the truck. He drops the items onto the ground and bends over. He places his hands on his knees as he sighs.

"You okay?" Eddie looks up to see Bobby standing there, the fire nearly out.

"Yeah," Eddie stands, "he's manic, cap."

Bobby sighs, "what did he do?"

"Jumped over literal fire. She wasn't in immediate danger. She could have waited the five seconds for us to put it out and get to her. He could have waited," Eddie says softly.

"I'll send him home. You'll go with him. Do you know his protocol?"

"Yeah, I do," Eddie says with a nod, remembering how Buck instructed him on what to do if he's manic.

"Good," Bobby says before he walks over to Chim and Buck. Eddie follows once he knows he is calm enough to see Buck.

"How is he?" Eddie questions as he looks over Buck for any burns.

"He held his breath so he has barely any smoke inhalation. He'll be perfectly fine," the paramedic responds.

They all get out when the vehicle is parked. Buck moves to go upstairs, but Bobby stops him, "you're going home, Buck. You and Eddie are off shift."

"What? Bobby, you heard Chim! I'm fine," Buck responds.

Baby makes sure only Eddie is around, "you're not, Buck. You're manic."

"No, I'm not!" Buck exclaims. Bobby takes out his phone and clicks on a video, showing Buck.

"Hey Buck, it's Buck. God this is weird. Anyways, you're seeing this because Bobby thinks you're manic and need to go home. I know you don't feel manic, but you most likely are. You trust Bobby with your life. If he thinks you need to go home, go home. That is what you agreed to when you got your diagnosis. Go home, up your downers, and sleep. Contact your doctor and make an appointment. Just listen to him, Buck."

Buck sighs and nods to his father figure, showing he'll listen. Eddie sighs in relief and leads him to the locker room. The two get changed into cleaner clothes. They leave the locker room, Bobby having told the others that Buck needed to rest after his 'adventure' and he knew Eddie would want to go with him.

Once Buck has taken his meds and changed into pajamas, Eddie hugs him tightly. All of his fears from seeing Buck jump over the fire return. He holds him and places a kiss on his cheek. Buck hugs him back, knowing he scared him.

"Let's lay down, hmm? Chris is at school and Carla is picking him up. It's just us for a few hours," Eddie says as he guides Buck to the bed, tucking him in.

"I love you, Eddie. I'm sorry," Buck says as Eddie climbs in. He lays his head on his boyfriend's chest as his meds begin to kick in.

"I know, mi amor. You don't need to be," Eddie says as he runs a hand through Buck's hair, "I love you. Nothing will ever change that."
