•Inspiration: I actually don't know. Like I know that something inspired this-it's not dark enough for my traumatized mind to have just thought up, but I am currently experiencing HORRIBLE pms cramps today so my brain is just mush.

•Type: angsty I guess but not fully angsty

A/N: Okay, so "In A Flash" is 9-1-1 season 6 episode 10. It premiered on March 6, 2023. This One Shot is actually based in Texas with the 126. On March 7th, 2023, season 4 episode 7 of 9-1-1: Lone Star titled "Tommy Dearest" was released. Logically, given that the episodes are a day apart, one can conclude that they are based around the same time. However, in the previous episode, a bigger event happened. I want that to be the plot.

I hope you enjoy. I wish that even if we didn't get a full crossover, we still got evidence of them remaining in contact. Also the first part is 100% from transcripts.org

"I'm sure that by now some of you have figured out that I've had a secret. I, um... I've been working undercover for the FBI, and that has required me to disappear from time to time and to lie to you about where I've been. But I'm not here to apologize for it. I've had the chance to prevent a terror attack on this city. But I did not," Owen says softly as he looks out over the 126.

"I failed. And I believe that the attack is now imminent. But that is not to say that all hope is lost. As I stand here, there are people on the front lines doing absolutely everything they can to prevent it from happening. But we are behind the eight-ball. And that's where we always start. And that's what makes us who we are," he takes a deep breath.

"You know, for 20 years, I've wondered how it could've been different if I'd had known those planes were gonna hit. Maybe I could've saved my team. Now I realize it's worse... knowing it's coming and there is nothing you can do but wait. And so we wait. Ever watchful, always vigilant and prepared. We have to be prepared because we can never really be ready. Not really. And I tell you this because I believe you deserve to know. Maybe because... I need your help carrying the weight."

"And that's what we're here for, Cap. Always," Judd says.

Owen gives him a grateful-but still sad-smile, "So... the next time those tones go off, it may be a cat in the tree or it may not. But it won't be a drill. So I want you to do whatever you need to do to prepare yourselves and make sure your people know how much you love 'em."

The firefighters and paramedics disperse throughout the house. TK clicks his screen and lifts his phone to his ear.

"Hey, babe. How's work?" Carlos asks in a tone that allows TK to hear his smile.

"It's," TK takes a nearly unnoticeable pause, "fine. I just wanted to call and say I love you."

"I love you too," Carlos says before a beep comes from TK's phone.

"Babe, I have a call I have to take coming in. I'll talk to you later."

"Stay safe, Tyler Kennedy," Carlos says.

"You too, 'los. Stay on the line until you get pulled away. I'll come back to this one."

"Deal."

TK switches over to the incoming call, "hello?"

"TK? Hey, it's Firefighter Henrietta Wilson from the 118. I met you when we came to lend aid during the-"

"Yeah, yeah, the wildfires. I remember you. Of course, I remember you. You saved my dad's life," TK interrupts, "what's going on?"

"I know that you and Buck are friends," Hen says softly.

TK sighs, knowing the tone in Hen's voice, "what's happened, Hen?"

"Buck was s-struck by lightning. He's in a medically induced coma. The doctors aren't really sure if he's going to make it through the night. I wanted you to know before it was too late."

TK pinches the bridge of his nose, "I want to come, Hen, but I'm working in the middle of a disaster. I-I can't leave."

"I get it. Good luck with that. I'll keep you updated on Buck."

After the call ends, TK returns to his call with Carlos, walking up to the bunk room.

"Carlos," TK says softly, "I never do this, but if you can, please come here. Please get to me."

"Okay, I'll be there soon. What happened? What was the call about?"

"Buck. The firefighter from the 118 who flirted with me. My friend, Buck," TK says as tears form in his eyes, "he was struck by lightning."

"I'm pulling up to the firehouse now. Where are you?"

"Bunk room."

Carlos ends the call and sprints into the building. He ignores the others questioning him and sprints up the stairs. When Carlos enters the bunk room, he moves like the flash towards TK. The paramedic collapses into his arms, silently crying. Carlos lowers them to the ground, his hand on the back of TK's head. The other members of the 126 reach the bunk room just moments after.

"What happened?" Owen asks frantically.

"Evan Buckley, one of the firefighters from LA that came to lend a hand during the fires. He's badly hurt," Carlos explains softly.

It takes a few moments, but TK calms down and pulls away from Carlos.

"TK, are you okay?" Judd questions.

"Yeah, I have to be," TK responds as he and Carlos stand.

Owen sighs, "TK-"

"Dad. I need to be here. Until further notice, it's all hands-on deck," TK interrupts.

Carlos looks around the room, "What don't I know?"

"We have a potential terror attack incoming," Owen says.

"Terrorists? How do you know? What kind of attack? Why aren't we evacuating?" Carlos questions.

"A group of radicals stole a lot of ANFO. The FBI and I have been trying to find it, but now it's too late. Now... Now, we wait."

"Owen," Carlos starts, "how bad is this going to be?"

"Bad."
