A/N: I hope you enjoy! Also, in this, Shannon died within two weeks of Eddie being at the station, and Eddie and Buck weren't too close as Buck is awkward around him
____________________
It has been three months since Shannon died, and Eddie practically forced Buck to come to his place. He practically had to drag Buck there since the male had been distant. Christopher had just been put to bed, so the two men were sitting on Eddie's back porch, both on their second beers.
"So, what's your issue with me, Buck?" Eddie asks.
"I'm bi," Buck blurts.
Eddie chokes on his beer before smacking his chest a few times and swallowing the liquid, "did I hear you right?"
With that, Buck's mind goes crazy. Oh shit. What if he doesn't support me? What if he transfers stations because of me? Eddie sees the terrified look on Buck's face and cups his fellow firefighter's cheek.
"Hey, Buck, it's okay," Eddie says softly, Buck looks up at him.
"You're okay with me? With me being bi?" Buck asks in shock.
"Yes, Buck. Hell, I'm gay," Eddie says, causing Buck to start laughing, "what's so funny?"
"Well, you have a biological son inside the house and were married. To a woman," Buck says after he calms down.
"Yeah, I struggled with realizing it's okay to be gay for a long time," Eddie chuckles.
"But you've come to terms with it?" Buck asks.
"You come to terms with a cancer diagnosis, Buck. I have accepted myself, even if those I love haven't," Eddie says.
"Who hasn't?" Buck asks.
"After Shannon died, my parents tried getting Christopher and I back to Texas. They saw that I had begun to fall for someone, a guy. They were worried I'd begin dating the guy, and 'make Christopher think this was okay'" Eddie says sadly.
"Who?" Buck asks, a hint of pain in his voice.
"Buck, you have pretty much ignored me when we aren't on a call since I came here, yet I still asked you to come over. Who do you think it is?" Eddie asks.
"Say it."
"It's you, Buck. I'm falling for you," Eddie says.
Instead of responding, Buck kisses Eddie softly. Eddie's hand returns to cupping Buck's cheek, his other hand on his hip, pulling the other man close. They slowly break for air, staring into each other's eyes.
"The only reason I stayed away was because I wasn't ready to fall for you," Buck says.
Nothing more is said as Eddie takes their empty bottles into the house. He returns to the porch and grabs Buck's hand, pulling him into the house, and up the stairs to his room.

Buck opens his eyes and is confused. This wasn't his bed, or even his room. Then the memories flood into his brain and his smile can't be stopped from forming. He stands up, immediately falling back to the bed with a yelp of pain.
"Damn it's been a while since I've felt this," Buck mumbles with a chuckle.
He looks at his phone and to the time. When realizing that Christopher has left for school, he shakily stands with a grunt of pain. He limps down the stairs and sees Eddie cooking at the stove. His instinct is to go and wrap his arms around Eddie, but his anxieties keep him from acting. What if it was just a one-time thing?
"Oh, hey, Buck," Eddie says with a smile when he turns.
"H-hey," Buck's voice is quiet.
"You okay?" Eddie asks.
"What was last night?" Buck questions
"What do you mean?"
"Was it a one-time thing?" Buck asks, his voice breaking only slightly.
"I don't want it to be, Buck. I told you last night I'm falling for you," Eddie says, kissing Buck softly.
"Good."
Buck limps to the table, wincing as he sits, causing Eddie to chuckle and bring him pain meds before he sits as well.
"Oh, I feel like I'm in high school, but Buck, will you be my boyfriend?" Eddie asks.
"Yes, Eddie. I will be honored to be your boyfriend," Buck says with a chuckle.
The two finish eating before moving to the couch. As Buck leans against him, Eddie turns on the television, letting random marvel movies play.
"What about work? What will we tell them? Bobby will make one of us transfer," Buck says, his back leaning against Eddie's chest.
"Buck, breathe and stop spiraling," Eddie says as he kisses his boyfriend's head.

Hours later, the two are in the same position as yet another movie plays on the screen. They have lost track of time, jumping when they hear a gasp, turning to see Christopher and Carla. Buck panics and scrambles off of Eddie.
"Finally," the young boy says with a bright smile.
"I agree, Chris. It's about time they got together," Carla says.
The couple begins to get ready for work. Eddie finishes getting dressed, walking downstairs to see Buck and Christopher screaming and playing video games, Carla laughing at them.
"Do you think he's really okay with Buck and I?" Eddie asks Carla.
"Eddie, your child is smart. He has seen you and Buck at the firehouse. He has seen how you would look at him. Trust me, he has wanted you two to get together for a long time," Carla responds. (A/N: Lmao that's ironic with Carla supporting Buddie since the actress has publicly said there is no way they'll happen)
Eddie smiles as Buck ends the game, jokingly accusing Chris of cheating as he walks over to Eddie. Eddie says goodbye to Chris and the two firefighters leave.

"Glad to see you two are speaking again, but why did you come in together?" Hen asks when the two walk into the firehouse.
"Buck's car broke down," Eddie says simply.
"Mm-hmm," Hen says, not believing him at all.
